bazzab
Hello all. I'm not sure if this has already been raised. A police dog was stabbed twice by an offender that made off. He survived and is recovering well. The insane law in this country means that he was charged with criminal damage... which is frankly disgusting and makes myou blood boil. An online petition has begun for parliament to change it, it is doing really well but needs a few more. Can I ask you all to have a nose and give it a sign please. Thank you very much. bazzab
Guys that's great. Thank you so much. There a top dog and handler team bless them. Poor Finn was badly injured. Stabbed in the head and lung. Miracle vets work and he's home recuperating.

12gauge82
Signed. I was only saying in another post the other day, animal abusers laws need to change. 6 months (3 months in reality) is the max for cruelty to animals, hence why they will have charged him with criminal damage (carries a longer sentence). Today's animal abusers are tomorrow's serial killers.

Gordon R
What did the offender end up with? Carrying a knife alone should have ensured the 5 years. Also signed. Edited October 15, 2016 by Gordon R
Scully
The knife laws are obviously not working, nor have they from day one, unless you're law abiding of course. While I can agree the petition is indeed a worthy cause, wouldn't it be worthwhile lobbying for a change to knife legislation also, or instead? bazzab
What did the offender end up with? Carrying a knife alone should have ensured the 5 years. Also signed. He's been charged only at this stage. GBH and criminal damage. Again thank for signing gents. Do appreciate it. The knife laws are obviously not working, nor have they from day one, unless you're law abiding of course. While I can agree the petition is indeed a worthy cause, wouldn't it be worthwhile lobbying for a change to knife legislation also, or instead? Fair point... However for now, tackle this. Doesn't have to be knife injuries for this to make a difference.
Gordon R
bazzab - the petition was a no-brainer - easy to sign. Some others are questionable.

kyska
Signed. Is this not the case in the US, assault a police animal, you're assaulting a police officer? Stabbing a dog in the face and chest should carry a sentence, let alone a working animal.
