ditchman
proberly has at least 6 miles of electric wiring..............my defender will run without a battery...will that one ?...............

ditchman
2nd (shortwheel base )...looks ok...................might look better as a soft top........dont like the overhang over the rear window....has it a chassis...or is it monocot...with a landrover rear section welded on to it..............steel body panels ?...or aluminium........... might look better in a different colour no doubt a petrol engine...as all deseils belong to devil worshipers now ............ good ground clearance......... but at the price they will be at...they wont be carrying your chainsaws...dead bleeding animals...and dogs covered in methane smelling pond water................. Davyo
They can't call it a Defender,is just another Chelsea tractor for the school run.As ditchman says it will be full of cables and leather & things called carpets.Oh and not fit for purpose unless your a wag or a drug dealer. old'un
The articles I have read say there will be a basic model with rubber matt's and cloth covered seats starting around £25k, looks like it will be all aluminium body and they are developing a version for the army so it will have to-be as capable as the out going Defender, lets face it there are not many new 4x4's that you would take off road, they are all becoming a bit soft. Gordon R
It looks like the bottom of a Freelander , with a box stuck on top. Not impressed at all.
Walker570
Will be in the crusher well before my old Defender dies. All look the same out of the Land Rover design shop these days, can't tell one from the other ... mind that applies to almost all cars. I wonder if you can take it piece by piece and lay it out on the garage floor, if you can't then it ain't a Land Rover.

four-wheel-drive
I cannot see many people bothering to get one even the army are opting for four door pickup trucks I think it will just be another rich mans toy.
matone
Somehow the idiots designing 4x4`s now need to be reminded that some people actually need them for work not posing and ego massaging purposes. Year on year ,theyre all turning into Tonka Toys for.........
ips
I like the green one that looks cool. But is it just me or do the other two look like the new shape mini

slaphead
Its god damn awful... Top pic looks like a mongrel version as if a mini had mated with a defender!
WinchesterDave
I don't believe the images are 100% final design? However, past Land Rover concept cars have been very close to the actual production vehicle. I read a while back that Land Rover were going to be making both a utility variant and a 'leisure' variant of the new Defender..... We shall see... I just so hope they get it right!! Edit - unlike the 'All New' Discovery! Edited June 5, 2017 by WinchesterDave
viking
I hope they get it right too. I think we will just have to take it for what it is. Another Chelsea tractor, posh school bus. The defender is dead, long live the defender. I'd still have one though

Year on year ,theyre all turning into Tonka Toys for......... Spot on, most of the 4x4's they churn out now are nothing like a proper work/shooting wagon, I looked at the Jimny, its capable off road but its so small inside, its a pity they don't make it a bit bigger or do a long wheelbase 5 door with an up rated engine 2.0ltr? Think car makers should ask farmers, country people and shooters what they look for in their 4x4's, but I guess they go where the money is. Must admit I do like the look of the green one.
