I dont have papers nor a tv but saw on Twitter that someone had posted the front page of The Times where it was stated that Corbyn has said the homes of the rich should be seized to house those left homeless by the fire in London. Has he seriously made the suggestion?

Not exactly in context as expected from the media, he said how the people.who suffered this tragedy are now homeless and how wrong it is that there are people."land banking" in the capital who own many valuable properties that they have never visited and have no intention of living in which remain empty(or words to that effect)

He has a lot to say about how it should be done, after coming second. As he was cuddling and seeing the victims, and May was'nt but it must be a security nightmare for her outfit at the moment.

And i am by no meens a big fan of hers but some things can be done and some are not practical.

Thank you. Thought it was a bit of a ridiculous claim, even for him.

It's not that ridiculous, this is the guy who would like to see the Right To Buy scheme migrate to private rentals.

Any private landlords on here happy to have a tenant force them to sell their property?!

Fair enough. He does seem to spout some garbage at times.

some on the media eventually explained that...they were looking for people who had 2nd homes in the area that could be released to house the unfortunates.......the media spun the line "seize from the rich"............bet the now Labour constituents loved it..............

May has now realeased £5million to the council for loss of items within the home..transport...to and from school ...food...............it is a DREADFUL thing that has happened and a swift investigation should take place with some early answers......................but call me cynical......some people are going to milk this big style.............lawers....insurance companies...landlords...........ET AL..........

Right to buy on private houses. He has lost it completely. Land banking has always gone on and always will, comrade Corbin don't like anyone having anything they have worked for. You should give it all to the great unwashed who don't want to work.

When you think the gunpowder plot was for one man and his party. Today they would want to blow the whole lot of politicians sky high.

May had a lot of more important things to do like setting up enquires and making sure relief was put in place and organising places for the homeless to be looked after whilst Corbin was scoring brownie points. from Auntie.

You should see it on Facebook, loads of people saying how great an idea it is as well!

Shouting that the rich are hoarding all the property and it needs to be "taken back for the people".

I can well believe it and frankly if I was struggling to get on the housing ladder I'd think it was a great idea too!

But it's truly terrifying for anyone who has worked hard, saved and put some pretty hard graft into a handful of properties to keep as a pension. Could it all be taken away at a loss of 35% of the true market value on each property? Probably! How is it any different from any other attack on pensions or inheritance?

"...private tenants who exercise their right to buy would be entitled to a 35% discount off the market value of the house..."

Another WONDERFUL idea that he will never have to make work or find the money for!

Standard socialist ploy - I refer my learned colleague to on G Brown's windfall tax on pensions.

So here is a quote of what jc really said " the ward where this fire took place is, I think, the poorest ward in the whole country and properties must be found-requisitioned if nessecary -to make sure those residents do get re-housed locally.

"it can't be acceptable that in London we have luxury buildings and luxury flats left empty as land banking for the future while the homeless and poor look for somewhere to live.We have to address these issues"

So the quote from the billionaire gutter press owner in who's interests it is to keep a party in power who look after the rich and shameless rather than chance someone getting in who might just make them pay their fair share of tax was Completley cherry picked garbage to protect his own interests. As anyone with half a brain can see the original quote that started this thread is complete garbage and yer another media hatchet job

Not a big fan of May but she can't do anything right because she's in power. If she'd been greeting the displaced residents Corbyn would have criticised her for ignoring the hard working emergency services. She can't win.

That said, where are all these homeless people going to be housed?
