Anyone seen the ad on tele for the model spitfire build it in weekly parts ,now as above did I see that right 120 weekly parts at price of £9.99 first issue £1.99 so that equates to £1,200 .00 for the model !!!!!!!! You could have a go in the real thing for that sort of money
ShootingEgg
You saw it right... Madness.
Rewulf
The best bit... If not enough people buy it regularly, they'll discontinue it whenever they like. So you could potentially invest £100s and never get to finish it.
snow white
All them kits that they advertise are the same you could buy a real one for the price they are charging
spurs 14
Looks a good model decent size etc but would be spot on for a couple hundred quid not mega bucks
Dibble
I can actually put you in touch with some men who will build you a new one, they cost around a million. You need the plate from a real one to fly it.
Vince Green
This is the power of payment by instalments.
DUNKS
Seen these offers over the years. Be interesting to know if anyone actually completed one
johnphilip
These things always seem to come out after Christmas and into the new year .
The Heron
I wouldn't mind but when you have built it that's it it doesn't do anything.

Dougy
Thats advertising for you, £9.99 for the model shown in the add, a week !!! but its only £9.99 a week 2 pints and a bag of crisps. If they told you you can buy it ready made up for £1200.00 they wouldnt sell part one let alone the whole 120 kits. But people buy them. GingerCat
I've never met anyone that's ever started one of these. For 30 quid you could get the model from an airfix shop.
Smokersmith
It certainly made me do the maths Or thinking another way ... What do you have after a round of clays every Sunday for a couple of years … Sweet FA ! Everyone needs a hobby, and at least whoever does this will have the model at the end of it. A chap I know did a tank once .. very similar deal a few years back … I think he almost got his money back off eBay when he put it on there. Personally though … I'll stick to breaking objects at weekend rather than assembling them!
bavarianbrit
There is a full size one or rather there was in 1996 on Shoreham airport? It was behind Ricardo"s special vehicles building and I liked to look at it from my office window.
amateur
My late father was a clockmaker. As he was descending into the hell of Alzheimer's he signed up to buy an orrery in instalments. When I went to help him build it, he had, of course, mislaid several of the parts.
figgy
That's a Rip off, should be outlawed to charge that amount. Extra £2.00 at most over the cost of the magazine at most. For that money you could make a flying RC model. Edited February 19, 2020 by figgy
Pistol p
This easily resolved by waiting two and a half years and buying a completed one at a local car boot sale for 50p. Viz toptip.
