Teal
Think I know what this is, but just wanted to pop it on here, to see if anyone can confirm. Not the greatest of photos as from a trail cam. If it is a pine marten, I've not seen one before, and didn't know they were there. The other option is mink, maybe the photo not good enough to confirm? (Its not in Wiltshire!) TIGHTCHOKE
I hope it is a Pine Marten.
ninjaferret
Only seen one once , it could be, BUT i feel even at that angle you'd see part of the bib. I fancy it's a mink. But hey i could be wrong, try and bait near the camera.

JDog
Pine Marten. Mink have much shorter legs.
pbutd
Body shape , carriage & paler tail tip suggest pine marten?
39TDS
Could well be a pine marten but I had seen it I would have said polecat.
Teal
Thanks for all the comments, I'm pretty sure it's a pine marten. I think JDog is right with the long hind legs. Hopefully will get another picture of it in due course.
scolopax
Great post, really interesting picture. I tend to with Pine marten, it is very mink like but the hind legs look too long. But we all know how misleading a snap image can be. it’s a Buzzard! For those with long memories.

I just had to watch the re-run of that just to see him get it wrong after explaining all about the planets. The look on his face was classic.😂😂

ninjaferret
I'm sticking with mink , legs look long but has it just jumped ? And head shape looks wrong for pine marten, their a lot more pointy. And no visible bib , i'm sure you'd see at least part of it.
ninjaferret
Never to be seen again ?
