Unable to work due to heart and kidney failure, I get £58/week, the other half gets more as a carer. Thank god we bought solar panels, they bring in around £1000/year which helps.

Like I said there are people worse off than me. Must be quite a struggle living off so little.

BP profits go (with many other big companies) to pay peoples pensions.

Bear in mind that companies like BP and Shell made huge profits this year (due to better demand and higher oil and gas prices), but BP and Shell both made big losses last year (2020) as demand was right down, so it is swings and roundabouts.

Well, I just had my oil bill for the twelve monthly refil and was expecting around £900 pleasantly surprised when it was just over £700. It heats our central heating and also provides hot water for a year.  Whats that about £2 a day more or less?

Bear in mind we live in a three storey 400 year old farmhouse.

I think that oil pays less in 'green subsidies' than gas and electricity (which are artificially inflated to pay for things like wind and solar subsidies, smart meter programmes etc.), so oil - which has traditionally been a bit more expensive - is now nearer to gas (may even be cheaper at present?).

Also - it has been a relatively mild winter - certainly round here.

I think I read with the price ‘cap’ increase the real in unit costs maximum were

Electricity 28p unit

Gas 7p a unit

as a UK average with regional variations to be published soon.

my energy supplier has e-mailed about the rises but has yet to furnish me with their cost and this will be done ‘nearer April’

Well we spent £1800 on electricity and £450 on gas last year, so my *** is nipping……

We are large users of electricity- washing machine goes 3 times a day with work clothes, gym gear etc for 4 adults. Don’t waste much, lights off when we don’t need them etc.

3 adults working (all 4 out all day) and one not far from leaving school.

We don’t shop regularly, so we have 2 fridge freezers. 1 small chest freezer and 1 beer fridge (and 2 refrigerated beer pumps - a blade and perfect draft). Rarely use the tumble drier as we either air clothes outside or in front of the log burner. For a 5 bedroom house. We are around half the average use of gas but 2.5x the electric use.

God knows what our bills could be. Thankfully after all my moaning, everyone seems to be trying to get the bills down, a rough estimate looks like another £100-£140 rise per month.

At least they’ll be contributing I hope 😎👍
Mines four double bedrooms , 2 bathrooms, gun/office and costing £100 a month gas/elec  with the washer going 3 times a week and 3 of my sperm pets staying 12 days a month using tv’s , I pads, laptops etc .
I built my house tho so it’s well insulated. I never turn my heating off tbh and leave it at 17 .

I wish I had a log burner tho 😎 I’d save a fortune owning a joiners shop 😂😂😂

I am lucky enough to have, or did have,  extremely low fuel bills my monthly gas bill was around £8 a month, and electric was around £60 with the increase in my monthly bill its just popped up to an estimated £176. how on earth was that increase calculated.
