Hello, good for them 👍 are they hoping to bring back any Ukrainian citizens if they have visas ?

I’m not too sure they themselves know what’s going to happen.
They have a rough idea of taking refugees wherever they can, but apparently some of the camps are dire, as is always the case, but they were told a lot of economic refugees are using the conflict as a means to get to the west, so it’s not going to be easy to differentiate between those who are genuinely in need of refuge and others who may not be.
If they can bus some back to the UK, then they will.

Good god Scully, don't try bringing nuance into this discussion!

A couple of blokes from the village have rented a 10 seater minibus and are setting off to the Polish border with Ukraine on Monday.

I do hope it’s not one of the latest electric powered vehicles or they won’t get to Dover much before Easter!

Its very easy to identify the genuine ones

Now Mr Scully where did you live?

what street?

whats your postcode?

what bus goes past your door?

just simple questions like that will weed out the fakes very quickly.  If you sit them down for five minutes with a local asking them questions

Hello, well it looks to me those wanting to take in Ukrainian families not having relatives already in UK are going to have a long wait or dare I say may never even happen with the 50 page visa applications, I do understand the logic to make sure it's only genuine refugees applying and the hosts are genuine to  but surely this could be made simpler ?? I can see many Ukrainians giving up on their hope to seek refuge in UK and go to another country,

I reckon you're right Gordon.

And in the meantime,  the government is welcoming hundreds of dingy paddlers every day.

Maybe we should be sending dinghies to Ukrainians.

That's an Ukrainian refugee arrival area in Ireland. The interesting bit where he actually speaks with the Asians claiming to be 16 years old ukrainians is about five and a half minutes through after 'security' tried to stop him filming.

Hello, yes but France does not care and will do anything to let them come,  those crossing the channel it cannot be easy to find your life in turmoil and want a safe haven but at what cost to us?

There have been plenty of celebs backing the homing of Ukrainian refugees, as Lily Allan, Benedict Cumberbatch and indeed Jeremy Clarkson advocated during one of the Middle East, Far East, Asian, African or whatever locality were busy killing each other at the time, but whether any of them actually have or did, I wouldn’t know.
The Arch Bishop of Canterbury or whatever he’s called, could open the doors to St Pauls of course, plenty of room in there. The Windsors must have a spare room or two, you would think. 🤷‍♂️

If they are safe in another country, all is well!

Didn't Lilly Allan find out all was not a bed of roses when she opened her house to some?!

Hello, yes you right , at least the offer from over 150, 000 people  is still there if any Ukrainians wish to come to UK

Yes that's correct. If the people offering are unsuccessful with Ukraine refugees I'm sure they will extend their generosity and concern to offer homes to anyone else who cannot find safety in another country.
