The police imply that they released some details of her troubled past because they suggest people were trying to sell stories about her to the press.

However, in doing so they strengthened the case for believing she was a suicide risk. This maybe goes a long way to explaining their apparant preoccupation with the river.

People are wrong though to say the police were only interested in the river. That's not how these investigations are run

Watching Sky News this morning there is a Gate that shuts and leads to a lane very near to the bench.  A witness said the dog was running between the Gate and the bench.  If she had turned left at the end or been picked up and gone left then no CCTV camera coverage.  My money is 95% she has gone down the lane and been picked up.

Interesting speculations all over the press etc, but the one thing that strikes me is the lack of mention of the dogs lead, yes it is reported that the lasses phone and the dogs harness was found and that the dog was tied up, but no mention of the dogs lead. Handy hanging tool that. Maybe the local woods need a good looking at. The fact that the lass was on a group call set to mute and no sight also does not surprise me after all one wouldn't want to be seen walking the dog when working from home, would one. Having said all that I hope the lass will be found safe for all concerned.A very baffling case for the local constabulary.

That’s my bet.

Having told the world her deepest darkest problems and confidential medical information I doubt she’s coming back now.

We’re currently away with medics - they said if they released that info about a patient they’d be struck off and out of the profession by the end of the week.

What a strange case and totally mismanaged by the powers that be.

The police are not bound by confidentiality regarding people's medical condition. They only have to ensure that any information they do release is in the best overall interest of the missing woman to be in the public domain. Which at this stage in the search I think it is.

It's quite common to hear police reports that somebody has gone missing and (for example) is diabetic and didn't take their medication with them

It's just another case of total incompetence by the police. The whole system is a shambles.  On one hand you've got police officers committing abduction, rape and murder, to many jumping ship before they are pushed, to all sorts of serious misdemeanous from those that have come to light. Areas that are terrorised by crime and gangs and when the public ring up there is no action.   I worked for a company that had an amount of expensive burglaries  it they didn't even bother to come out.  The company was given a crime number over the phone and told to get in touch with the Insurers.   One time a single officer came about 3 days after the event.  Had a wander throughout the workshop and asked if we'd checked that the doors were shut !?!?  What else could we expect.   It's not one force it's all of them.  My thought from day one was a Reggie Perrin. Thought through for some time and all set up.  Bank a/c, identity, the works and or a friend or new partner who is helping / providing for.  She might not be all that far away.  But how many disapear and no one really ever hears about them.

Whilst I totally get your sentiment, thinking outside the box it’s possible the experts where completely correct and there was no body. It could be that other events have occurred and the body has then been conveniently disposed of into the river.  Even further outside the box it may not even be her.

until the body is formally identified none if us will know.

May not even be her?

How many bodies you think are in there?

I think you are also missing something salient, the head of the specialist unit said that they had searched a little upstream of the bench and down to the weir. I didn't hear or read that they went any further downstream.

A body could have washed up and down with the tide too.

Correct, until formal identification is done it may not be.

as for how many, not really thought about it.    Why? How many do you think are in there?
