From what is being said he was on drugs, while it is a tragedy that someone so young has died, i have no time for all the tributes that will now go on saying what an amazing person he was.

He had a choice.

My thoughts exactly. But RIP anyway, as those around him could have helped 😕

I remember way back when the group first went on Britain's Got Talent or whatever show it was as individuals and came nowhere , Simon Cowell told them to go on as a group and they became pop stars and no doubt very wealthy overnight , the young females went mad and it didn't make a scrap of difference if they could sing or not , they got headline news at the time and now a few years later people are asking who he is , I recon he had a job to handle instant fame and more money he could ever imagine .  MM

Some real hard faced ***** on here

I’ve gone through this losing my son n hope one of you have to go through this

what ever the circumstances

rip liam

my apologies for appearing hard nosed.......my annoyance stems from all the media outlets covering this for the last 8 or 9 hours  (blanket coverage)..........which i think is totally unnessasary.....as many people have never even heard of him and what relevance he has ....

it puts everything in perspective when there are far more world changing/event stories that need covering

if you mix ...money/fame/sex/drugs/pop music/metal problems..........all together.....you just know it aint going to end well

i hope now he has found peace...

I'll guarantee more let's say under 30s have heard of him than Sir Mike Jackson who died the other day.

First thing I thought when I heard what had happened was it'll be drugs, what a waste.

The media are covering it because its news, its just not interesting to a group of blokes past 60 or 70 who don't like pop music or boy bands.

As above, and it was disgusting that it made headline news on BBC1 this morning, what with other terrible things happening in the world!

So have I, when he was 14 years old. But I still think it's disgusting about the amount of media coverage this person had. It was his choice to do what he wanted to do.

A self inflicted drug abuser that got headline news all stations all night - given more air time than war tragedies around the world.

:good:

This.
Those responsible for catering to a bunch of teenaged lads ( or lasses ) who were turned into overnight sensations to their respective generation have a duty of care to those teenagers; locking a 16 year old in their hotel room for their own protection ( with access to a mini bar ) doesn’t quite fulfill that criteria in my opinion.
He’s not the first by a long way and sadly won’t be the last.

They all failed their auditions, but Cowell needed a boy group so he put them together and invested millions into promoting them knowing obviously that with enough money pumped into the group even 5 losers could become a cash cow. TBH, you would have to spend an awful lot of time trying to find someone that cares less than me.

Tad ironic then that you went to the trouble of posting with such knowledge about the subject, given that you couldn’t care less. 🙂

young musicians he signs up

Well the ones who did well will be very wealthy.

Heath Ledger, Mathew Perry, Liam Payne, sadly despite success we never know what goes on behind closed doors.

Some on here need to give their heads a wobble,  it doesn't matter that you couldn't care less, I couldn't have said which member of One D was which.

But if you've nothing good to say then jog on.

Two people at my work committed suicide last month, I've no idea who they were it's a big place, and a bloke at our rugby club, have a think before you type gents.

Oh get off your high horse, there are many veterens on here who know of many suicides of mates who had PTSD we hear of someone on an almost weekly basis, some of us have seen things that we wouldn't wish on our worst enemies
This was a lad who chased fame, then decided to do drugs and died, and while his death as i have said is sad, lets not start the idol worship, the tv and press have elevated him to near saint hood, he's not a person i would want my grandkids to look up to.

Hello, Do you not all think these Music Managers should have a Duty of Care ????

I think there will always be a certain amount of the blame game , we see and hear about it everyday when someone takes his or her own life and you get the health workers could had done more to prevent it , but there is only so much that anyone can do , if you want to take your life then there are plenty of ways in doing it and the health workers cannot look after these people 24 hrs a day .
