Beretta28g
After 10 years my trusty Deerhunter ram has finally given up the ghost and now leaks like a sieve. New ones seem very hard to find, and are a absorbatant price. So for around £150-200 what are the portions for a fat ******? Ridge line keep popping up on my online teaser he, but I have not had any dealings with them, nor have I seen any to have a good look at. Please no one say Jack Pyke, their rubbish always have been always will be. Has as anyone got any ideas? Cheers
Pigeon Shredder.
Have a look on Decathlon some good coats/jackets in the Shooting department.
Jason_ox
http://estore.beretta.com/en-eu/beretta-light-static-hunting-jacket/gu08302295/ just bought this in the green, Camo available too. I’ve heard good things but have yet to try myself in the field. Ordered on the fri from Italy and came the following Tuesday. Quality is top notch, I’ve got deer hunter stuff as well and this seems on par if not slightly better.
Moley101
Rivers West Eider jacket is quite good. Their 3XL fits me and I'm a big bloke.
Oldtoad
I have a whole ridgeline suit, very good and durable and the hood is great. I wouldn't say it's perfectly waterproof but it's very hard wearing, have fowled in it for the past six seasons and it's still in really good shape. holloway
I have had 2 ridgeline coats the smock which leaked in the sleeve was returned and the replacement leaked after 6 months, went on to US marine Goretex 3 years on still perfect at a fraction of the cost. Mochastorm
Oh how times have changed, not one suggestion for waxed cotton. Guaranteed to make you wet from the inside out. I still have the ultimate, a Barbour Northumbria in my loft, one day I may slim down so it fits again. My favourite coat for when the weather gets nasty is a Harkila Pro Hunter, which is waterproof and warm. They aren’t cheap, but certainly worth the extra money. greenshank1
US or British Army goretex .
haynes
+1. I keep thinking of buying something better but the old army goretex has no faults. Its not warm but then when beating i layer it up. Easy to adjust your temperature throughout the season.
nic
for the money, you cannot beat army surplus. only issue for civvy types is understanding the sizes 🙂
holloway
French issue isnt bad either just search on ebay ,only thing to watch out for is some of the breast pockets get in the way of my gun mount so i always avoid pockets on top right ,then quick wash in re proofer and perfect for another year or two. shakin stevens
Anything American army goretex , I've got a us marines digital woodland camo jacket. Really expensive to buy , but they do turn up on the bay in the UK and at a fair price . Uk troops fetched them back after Afghanistan. bruno22rf
Pop into GO OUTDOORS - they sell pro logic (think that's what they're called - bought one second hand off this forum about a year ago and it's brilliant.

Seconding Decathlon, their stuff is good and cheap. Got a nice pair of Gortex trousers for £30 and they seem nice and hard wearing. All unbranded but decent quality. rimfire4969
I have had 2 Ridgeline Sovereign jackets, first one was great second one leaked just about from new. I know they are not cheap but I have got a schoffel Ptarmigan and it is the best jacket I have ever had. joejoe
Got a Austrian army surplus jacket with a gortex lining it seems to do the job. It's in plain green too. The German army jacket is uninsulated but brilliant in the rain.
ratty1
Another negative comment for ridgline sadly. Bloody expensive , leaks from the inside out with sweat and then when it rains ,it lets you get wet from the outside in. Monsoon smock : waste of hard earned money.
