Retsdon
Six years for killing a stranger for fun seems far too lenient to me. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/james-gelling-liverpool-champions-league-final-tottenham-ventsislav-marginov-a9104646.html . Walker570
The way of the world today I'm afraid. The Judiciary are being manipulated by the luvvy duvvies in Westminster. Yes, 25yrs minimum would be THE minimum as far as I'm concerned.
Muddy Funker
The sentence is a joke. I'd see it as a positive though if I was one of his sons. 6 years to plan something special for his release 👍🏻
henry d
Manslaughter typical sentence is 2-10 years, seems to be in the ballpark.

Lord Geordie
Having read his comments I think he should have got 25 to life. He has a history of violence, and then told police he didn’t give a f if the old guy died or ended up cabbaged? Says it all to me.
oldypigeonpopper
hello, the judge called him a lout (an uncouth or aggressive man) i would say a ******************
Lloyd90
His Police interview shows his attitude. Absolute scum. Sat in a cushy prison cell is too good for him.
Pigeon Shredder.
Yes the sentence is a joke, and with time served on remand and the 50% snowflake duty imposed he would be out in under 3 years.

I'm sure that you're correct. But it seems to me that there should be a very significant difference in sentencing between somebody who kills through committing a reckless action and someone like bloke whose action was deliberately injurious, even if if the outcome was more injurious than he anticipated. The first offender is basically being punished for his stupidity and lack of reasonable foresight. This bloke foresaw that he was going to hurt his victim - in fact that was his whole intent. old man
Sadly just another indication of the slide into mayhem, where do you go when the Judiciary is not fit for purpose due to constant political intervention on the premise that the perpetrators are in some way disadvantaged? Some victim support? Out in 3 to continue his mission no doubt?

And to society at large too. Actually, while there's loads of things that I hate about Saudi, perhaps the one good thing is that you can go out almost anywhere and at any time of the day or night and never even think about stuff like this. In 95% of places you can almost certainly leave your house and car unlocked too. And I'm sure it's because behaviour like this bloke's is not tolerated in the slightest, either by society at large or the legal system. Another blinkered Judge with limited actual life experience, perhaps an ex military officer would be better suited to the job.
henry d
Perhaps it is a societal thing, thug doesn't care about attacking people and some think that it's OK to bypass the law and await him leaving jail?
Gordon R
I think the comments about waiting for his release are born of frustration at the weak sentencing.

The consequence could be that the law abiding are enticed into criminal ways due to their position and rights under the law being constantly ignored?
