I haven’t watched a soap since she became my ex; just one of many benefits! Not a soap admittedly, but I once came home to see her sat on the sofa watching black and white footage of people sleeping……. I'm talking about Silent Witness! from the age of 13 I wanted to be a Pathologist, seriously. Even got offered a Place at Uni to study . I asked her the other day "is anyone ever happy for more than a few seconds", "no came the reply", "so why watch it?" Between the soaps, antisocial media and people wanting to cancel the past, the place is up that sludgey creek without a paddle. And don't get me started on "reality tv" like the Chelsea or Essex tripe, gawd I can feel brain cells shrivelling up when I'm unfortunate enough to see an advert...
