shaun4860
They are supposed to be erecting a statue of the Billy Casper holding Kes. This will be the second statue they have put up Fantastic film, proper down to earth.
chrisjpainter
I'm 37, does that count as younger generation?? I've seen it. Good film, but I prefer The Wind That Shakes The Barley, not that there's too much difference between them or any of Ken Loach's films! When I was managing a care homein Barnsley a few years ago the older staff told me stories about his antics. Apparently he used to collect all the children in the village on Sundays morning from their houses and make them do football training. Parents did not have a say in the matter. This included boys and girls and in types of weather. He would be locked up in this day and age Edited February 25, 2023 by yates

SuperGoose75
Love Kes and remember watching it on the T.V. years ago, but have watched it several times since on VOD and last watched it about a month ago. A real gritty film about a working class lad and his love of his Kestrel. Sad at times though. Poor Kes, A gamble he took didnt pay off in the end! I Daniel Blake. He then made it again in 2019, Sorry We Missed You. Same film, same motifs, same plot matrix, same misery, same dismal ending. He's been making the same film for decades. He's got another upcoming film too, The Old Oak. I can't imagine that will be any different.

I'm willing to go as far as putting good money (and I was christened a methodist) that he will never make a different film.
