I thought the ramming of the young cattle beast was shocking, this is unbeleivable !!!.

Dont know how many shots were fired but local residents said they heard several shots being fired at the dog and there's me worried about a ricochet from a rimfire on wet grass.

When the only tool you have is a hammer every problem becomes a nail. So it is said.

On a more relevant point it is clear GMP obviously think they have to those "magic bullets" that evaporate once they either hit, or missed, the target they've been fired at. IMHO a person who actually owned and shot their own guns outside of police employment would know this. But truth is if you do own and shoot your own guns it seems an automatic disbar in some forces to then being employed as an armed police officer.

I speculate it is the first time the officer has fired their gun outside of a old style "approved range" with a backstop. Clearly no appreciation of how projectiles behave, it seems to show, when fired at shallow angles at hard surfaces. I doubt, others may correct, if any of that is part of police training. "Magic bullet" belief

The police is a broken entity. They won't pursue a fleeing villain for fear of an accident, with injury most likely to the criminal themselves. Yet will fire several bullets in a busy residential street to stop a semi aggressive dog.

Will attend a call to a domestic immediately, even when it's the same couple having a drunken argument every weekend, over an ongoing burglary. Or a call from a buisness about a man filming in the street, yet a domestic dwelling can't get them for love more money, even during an ongoing serious crime.

Another no idea plan,

looking at the way the dog was behaving it was hardly in aggressive mode was it, the police seemed to be more of a threat to the locals than the dog.

As mentioned above, no or very little idea of anything outside the rifle range. I wonder how the Gunman fully trained firearm officer was chosen for the task, draw some straws or Rock Paper Scissors ???
