Well apart from it being a miserable ole day if we hadn't been bombarded with weather warnings it would had been a fairy normal Winters day , the wind have died down but sadly it is still raining , never mind , it's nice and comfortable in mine so I will put the kittle on again and then take my dog out before it get dark , it certainly haven't caused any problems around these parts .    MM

Weathers got worse here, the last couple hours the winds been gusting really strong with heavy rain and it feels bloody cold.

It's truly horrible up here, i popped the gun shop earlier and it was dying down but the wind is back with a vengeance.

The wind has started gusting pretty hard again . I'm not exactly the faint hearted type , but I don't fancy another night like last night.

Well tell her to keep her hands off ya. :)

Wind gusting very strongly here in St Helens, I also don't fancy another night of this. No damage that I can see yet other than pots and stuff blowing around the garden, I will wait till it's all stopped before I go out though.

Think its the first death reported, Lancashire, a man in his 40s died after a tree fell onto his van.

Today has been so darker in tropical Kent.  We've had to have lights on all day and at 2pm the Mrs said "2pm,,, Goodness it looks like gone 5.

I just went out with Spaniel and the wind has dropped significantly and the rains stopped.  its not cold  it's cool and the wind has veered from the South round to the West.

In our small part of Cumbria the wind got up yesterday about 1400, which made our last drive a belter, and by the time we got back to the bothy it was starting to rain, so the forecast was bang on, and it hasn’t stopped raining since, plus we now have high winds.
Today’s shoot was cancelled due to the winds making it unsafe in the woods.

Had to cancel our shoot this morning. We left it until 9:30 and most of the beaters said they were not comfortable walking the woods, which is fair enough, this morning it was gusting hard, we lost our TV aerial, found it on next doors driveway. The farm we run the shoot on has over 10 trees down. The next village to us has had no power all day, think they've just had it back on. So N.somerset in places got hit hard.

Well you won't believe it , I went out around 3.45pm and it was dull but wasn't to bad , I went in the woods near mine and if anything the wind dropped even more to just a ordinary blow , rain was off and on and if I had felt better it would have been a good night down the marsh , mind you if I had  gone I would had most likely ended up as part of the bag , funny enough I have got two duck breasts for tea tonight which was the last duck I shot , by the way old'un ,I had two longish walks today and apart from feeling a little tired both walks didn't create any problems :good:

I shot the duck last Friday week ( first one in my 77th year ) , it have been cold in my garage so it didn't come to any harm , at the moment it is in the slow cooker on high and I will show you results when I have my tea around 7 . 30 .  MM

Just  been a winters day here nothing to warrant a yellow warning so far

Our weather girl got very excited last night when she kept repeating the met office Yellow warning , if we hadn't heard what todays was , we would have thought it was just a rough day , we are smack bang on the East coast and with todays Westly wind it don't even make the sea rough close to land , we used to take fishing parties out and as long as the wind was straight off the land we would had gone out and kept close to the cliffs , if the wind had swung round a degree we would had came in on full throttle
