TIGHTCHOKE
With all the "weather Warnings" bandied around over the last week or so, we got a whole centimetre of the white stuff. Stamford in Lincolnshire 5 miles north of me got 2 centimetres. I am sure it will have caught somebody out and the trains will struggle, but Gordon Bennett, what has this country and its weather forecasters come to? JKD
Same here ,,,, light snow early hours, a bit settled on cars and roofs, but almost all gone now with light drizzle following on with temperatures going up to an estimated 13°C. That concludes the weather report from the tropical SE 😆🤣

Scully
Not half as bad here ( at the foot of the N.Pennines in Cumbria just on the edge of the Lake District ) as it was forecast thankfully. First pic is 0800 taken from rear of house as I let the dog out, looking at N.Pennines less than a mile away to the East. Second is from front door looking at Striding Edge about 15 miles to the West usually clearly visible.
ShootingEgg
We must have got about 3mm then rain. Bristol airport stopped flights due to 1cm and runway conditions around 9pm last night. But it re opened pretty quickly . Forecast these days are really just scare tactics ..

London Best
We don’t have that metric snow here, because we’re Englishmen, but we do have less than an inch between Derby and Nottingham.

Yellow Bear
About 50mm here at about 200m up in NE Derbyshire, nothing out of the ordinary. For LB that is 2 inches at 600 ft.

Off the top of your (metric) heads, without using a calculator, can either of you Europhiles tell me how many litres per 100 kilometres your car does? I rest my case. Incidentally, as a toolmaker I worked in metric and imperial measurements all my life and used them interchangeably.
TIGHTCHOKE
As long as you don't combine the two like a lad that worked for me did years ago. Metric came in during the 1960's I believe.
Jaymo
Not exactly snowed in or a large amount - but enough to cause quite some hassle.Flight home cancelled, so a nine hour wait to ‘try’ and get home 😡

Guess it all depends on your age, when you mention an inch to most 20 year olds, they look at you as if your talking a different language.
