Lloyd90
A lot of disgruntled people want change! I thought Trump could take it from the start. Very interesting so far. He's so many things combined, anti establishment vote, Patriotism vote, people voting for him for the 'wrong reasons', business people after he proposes cutting business tax from 35-15%. It's like Brexit II
Mungler
Trump appears to have won Florida a key swing state - like our own Basildon What is of note is the left leaning media have sneered at him from the start and have obviously failed to take account of the emerging fact that a large proportion of Americans have had enough of career politicians. It is the US version of Brexit; all the media types and politicos didn't see it coming because they exists in self serving bubbles and pockets completely detached from what the majority is actually thinking and feeling. It could be exactly the same as Brexit. The chance for the disenfranchised to screw the system and say **** you to the political elite. Lloyd90
It could be exactly the same as Brexit. The chance for the disenfranchised to screw the system and say **** you to the political elite. That video I posted by Michael Moore above says exactly that. Also he's not paid off by big corps, him saying to car manufacturers "if you go abroad for cheap labour I'll slap 35% tariff on your cars and nobody will buy them" is practically something no other politican (puppet) has had the balls to stand up and shout! Lloyd90
Bookies and papers starting to say he's going to win it! New York Times saying he's got 95% chance he wins it, and they ain't exactly his biggest fans. Edited November 9, 2016 by Lloyd90
Konnie
Appears like our own brexit vote the little man is not happy with being ignored, niether was a good choice but a vote to show you need to be taken seriously.

Just what I've posted on AAOC. Maybe career politicians will start to realise that they are completely out of touch with ordinary people. figgy
I dont think for one minute people voted for Brexit to shove it up the Government. The populace are just sick to the back teeth of mass imigration and not being able to make our own choices on who can and cant come here. If this country felt like some are saying they would have voted UKIP. I hope Trump wins just to see how he does, lets see him make good on some of his promises. Think he will be like other politicians and back peddle or will he actually carry them through? Edited November 9, 2016 by figgy
chrisjpainter
he can't carry them through, that's what's so maddening.

The chance for the disenfranchised to screw the system and say **** you to the political elite. Yes it could be, but in America it will not get taken to the high court in order to attempt to stall the will of the people! Very surprised that he is leading by 29 at the moment and only needs 26 more. Perhaps it is the people of America rebuffing the establishment. It appears that Hillary may well have cancelled her victory party! Would now be a good time to point out that it is not only polsters in this country that have not got a clue! grrclark
It is fascinating, utterly fascinating. This is our version of the 'Arab spring' the disenfranchised and disaffected know that there are others who think the same way because of social media and that gives them confidence and courage to vote, to believe there is an alternative. Brexit and Trump are remarkably similar, there are a multitude of reasons why people will have voted for both, but the biggest statement from both outcomes, as I see it, is ordinary people saying "enough is enough". The sophistry of the political classes has been pushed aside and I think we are going to see a whole lot more of it too. It will be small changes, because we can only really have small changes, but change is happening. Whether that is for the better remains to be seen. sako751sg
Its in the bag surely. As mentioned, its the US version of Brexit and the upper echelon have misread just how much the public are wanting a change and they are voting to show it. Vince Green
The American voting system is a bit weird. In 2000 Al Gore won the election by getting the most votes but G W was given the Presidency. The states declare before all the votes are counted. It takes them about two days to get the final figure. Also the declaration is made state by state not college* by college* within that state which can massively tip the balance and that is what appears to have happened in Trumps vote today. It could well be that Clinton is way out in front on votes *for college think of a UK Constituency
