Dougy
Put in for a 50, you'd be OK then.
Stonepark
4 hours ago, dessyb said: not the right cal. for fox control. If 14gr and 12ftlbs is ok for a 3-4lb rabbit, why is 40gr and 100 ftlbs not ok for a 25lb fox?

oowee
Result. they are the ones to put the effort in for. .22 is a good round for fox at sensible ranges.
Vince Green
I'll bet more foxes have been shot with a .22RF over the years than any other calibre. Using centre fire rifles for foxing is a comparatively new thing really

mel b3
ive shot many more foxes with a .22lr , than i have with a .243 , you just need to pay a little more attention to shot placement .

Try telling that to the thousands of foxes killed with this round, perfectly good round at the right distance and shot placement.

scouser
If it’s close enough & in the right spot, a .22rf will put a lot of stuff down.
hedge
Appreciate the view from some that .22LR might not be the most appropriate, but I agree with the above sentiment being used sensibly: Range Shot placement Humane dispatch Not everyone has a slot or access to larger calibres and a .22LR can be more dual purpose than a .243 I saw a fox shot in the head with a .22LR from a range of about 60 yards. Very quick and effective.

Some folk just cant accept that not everything is done the same way as they do things. I don't shoot a 223 but I don't say there not as good as a 22.250. As long as the end result is quick and humane that's the name of the game.
strimmer_13
.22 not the right cal .22 is absolutely fine on roe. Spot on in fact. On your ticket for humane dispatch of course...
scarecrow243
humane dispatch on roe with a .22 is that not what a game keeper did after being asked from the police as the roe was hit with a car he lost his certificates
Len2016
get on to basc and ask them to send you the law on dispatching injured or trapped animals you will find you can basically use what is handy including a knife cheers len

Again not the bullet size (unless he was about 20 yards away) but the only reason I can think off is that he had a audience and he didn't have authority to do it. Im sure this was in another topic not long ago. BTW you used a brno mod 2, have you got a silencer on it? Seriously thinking of getting mine done
