treetree
So our towns and cities are to be monitored by a team of Covid Marshalls, no doubt with 1 weeks training and then let loose to hector and lecture people going about their business and generally impose a police state mentality and environment. Failed traffic wardens need only apply.
TIGHTCHOKE
Well, perhaps it is necessary because too many people are not following the guidance!

And "guidance" is what it is & not covered by The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (No. 2) (England) Regulations 2020I am looking why the Government persists in producing these documents that don't correspond with the Law enacted. If they want the "advice" to be followed put it in the Regulations, without, it is unenforceable.
Dougy
We have all been given what i heard as simple clear instruction to reduce social groups and keep distance, we had also been advised about the consequences. Its seems to me to be clearly obvious that people cant follow this, therefore we get what we had been told we would get if we did not follow these instructions. Dont moan about having your fingers burnt when you have been told that the fire is hot !!!

Treetree have not seen any traffic wardens for months not even Oxford city They have been round here - I got a ticket last month when I parked by a shop to pick up my Son's presents for his birthday and it was more than I could do in one trip (guitar/amp etc...). I had to stand in a vestibule to wait to go in the shop because of other customers for a few minutes - came out to the dreaded yellow sticker. Apparently the council have a new warden and she is supper keen!! The council is full of - or is good at finding - busy bodies who will get off on this. Does it need to be done? well that is debatable but I do also err on the side of caution (here comes the tin foil hat allegations)
fatchap
Bad idea round these parts, they start telling some of the "boys" in Romford town center they are facing a fine or nicked, then they are more than likely going to end up in hospital

Since when can government rule by decree, telling you who you can and can't have round for Christmas lunch. That noise you can hear is the collective sound of your forebears who did what they could to hand you your freedom turning in their graves. bruno22rf
We're going to play football on Christmas Day, will I get arrested. Makes me laugh - I have it on very good authority that, around here anyway, no police officers are being sent to reports of breaches of the social distancing - even less likely on Christmas day. The whole notion is a joke - let's say you are employed in a family business and there are 8 employees, all related, you can spend every day working with them but not spend Christmas day with them. With every new rule put in place this Government is proving that it could not organise a bunk up in a brothel. walshie
Would anyone seriously give their details to one of these velcro-shoed mummy's boys? Vince Green
Every day on the London Underground there are about 25-30% of the people not wearing masks. The police who patrol the system don't say anything to them Dont need marshalls. just enforcement
