amateur
Is it only me, or does anyone else think that it is bad taste for the Press to be discussing the detail of Prince Charles's coronation whilst Her Majesty is still around and still functoning. Given his age and apparent susceptibility to CoVid, he may not even make it.
Scully
I wasn’t ware it was being discussed! I’m just surprised anyone cares.

But yes I agree poor taste, but when have the media printed things in good taste

Dave-G
I'd imagine the Queen instigated her successor arrangements some time ago - and that would be very important for the monarchy to prepare for, and lets not forget HRH initiated speculation by stating her wishes that Camilla becomes king Charles's Queen Consort. amateur
I'm not disputing that it needs to be officially planned, just questioning why it needs to be aired in detail in the press at this stage.
Dave-G
Anything the Queen issues for public airing will be lapped up, extensively discussion grouped and exploited by the press.

You two would seriously have someone like Biden, Macron or even Putin as head of State ? Gawd help us and I'm a non believer Yes, the press will always be short of a story. I do think that Camilla has done a very good job since she married Charles and has been a rock for him. He was treated very badly being forced into a forced marriage in the first place. Like the Princess Royal, Anne, they have always stepped up and shaken hands with the good bad and ugly.
Weihrauch17
I doubt C & C will get any real respect from the public. The Queen is the last of the line for me.

Check out the visits of Biden wherever he goes. The Royal family earn this country far more than the likes of Johnson and Starmer ever could. Cranfield
There are many that agree that the crown should skip a generation, Charles is a bit of an old bumbler. Those that prefer any alternative should remember that there is no Royal yacht, but Putins little runabout cost £78million. Guess who paid for that and all the other billions salted away. Yeah, I’d like to see that. A couple of Royal pensioners aren’t really going to sell it, whereas William and his missus are immensely popular, and would have the potential to attract money like flies on poop! amateur
It's the Monarchy, not some TV popularity contest. If Charles is still living when HM passes on, then he should be King albeit, certainly not for so long as HM.
WalkedUp
The Queen has been a good head of state, and probably good value for money to the taxpayer over the years compared to other heads of state. Prince Charles is despised in my profession because he is corrupt and worse still, an eegit. I dislike his mistress because of my personal disgust of ‘home-wrecker’ tarts. Prince William has been trained on taxpayer’s expense to be a very valuable air ambulance pilot, doing sterling work. He’s thrown that away to make himself available to open supermarkets in Basingstoke. Complete waste. I am not a republicanist, but without the Queen I cannot see a future in which the monarchy has any relevance or reverence.
