Great to see the Tories getting a good beating in the local election. I can't understand why they are even polling the numbers they are. Still it's good news lets hope the trend continues and the Tories get fully trounced in the forthcoming general.

Speaking as someone who lives in Wales and has had a labour government for 20+ years i believe that labour are worse than the tories, Welsh education is a disaster as is our NHS and our road systems, we have a leader who is embroilled in a dodgy £200,000 donation and arrogantly believes he has done nothing wrong.
If labour win in england and mirror Wales then we are truly up the creek without a paddle.

This. We also have very high council tax and little to show for it.

The tories aren't very impressive right now but Starmer's band of overgrown student activists are guaranteed to make everything worse including the economy. It's always the same with Labour governments; they can't make objective decisions because they have to kowtow to the self interested unions who fund the party and many of the politicians.

Yep it's part of the process of moving responsibility to local govt without proper funding. Underfunding of everything and the ultra high tax burden will be a hallmark of this regime.

Same is often said of both sides of the political divide. Labour bowing to the Unions and the Tories bowing to Russia and big business. That said at least Starmers team have a plan.

Starmer has said that Wales is how labour should be, so look forward to 20mph limits, no road maintenance, pay per mile in the pipeline, pay to park at work in the pipeline, education tanking, the nhs getting worse, your chance of being treated if you have cancer diminishing, ohh it's not going to get better under labour not by a long chalk.

I think that's going back a bit? This from 2023 Speaking ahead of the Labour Party conference, he admitted that he "can't pretend" there are not challenges in his relationship with the Welsh Labour government.

Refreshingly honest.

Many thought Truss was how the Tories should be.

His challanges were that drakeford was best mates with corbyn, you remember corbyn he was the one that starmer was best mates with and agreeed with what he did and said right up to the point where he stabbed him in the back.
Be honest you say labour have a plan, but what is that plan? because starmer isn't telling.

Labour have been consistently the most vocal party in calling for tighter gun control since Keyham - most notable suggestions have been banning pump action shotguns and banning guns being stored at home. Luke Pollard the loudest of the bunch.

I don't understand why anyone who partakes in any form of shooting would be celebrating a Labour victory.

I'm not sure I've ever read anything good about Labour running Wales,  so despite being in power there since coal was first dug up the country needs a change that will never come.

England might well get a Labour government,  but I doubt it will last long, because Labour has no idea what it wants to do.

Winning the next election is a doddle,  just fix the roads and everyone will be happy.

A plan which they haven't shared with anyone yet. I have no idea what Labour stands for. Let's catch the people smugglers not the illegals. A pipe dream. They won't get anywhere with that rubbish, but will be happy to import law breakers by the boat load.

And that will increase their voting base, just like Bliar tried.
