Yes, a grifting narcisstic clueless lady who basically is a nasty piece of work (as we used to say) She will drag the Tory party even lower and best of all, at PMQ's she will loose her temper which will be great fun to watch (with a bowl on your lap)

The lady is political cannon-fodder, gets the hot-seat after her party got spanked in the general election.  No career politician would want the job, well at least not for the next couple of years at least.  The lucky winner has to re-assemble a party and try to find members that aren't tainted by corruption and scandal and that's no small task in it's own right.

Bang on I reckon, a care taker until the party prospects improve and they throw her out and put another puppet in place.

Dominic Grieve is a true Tory. I cannot think of any others who might have an iota of honesty and genuine ethics.
Unfortunately Labour is, or will go down the same road.

He's getting on a bit and unfortunately by the time they need him he'll probably be ready to go up to the HoL and spend a lot of time asleep.

Well at least you gave her a chance to prove herself.  Incidentally, are you of the opinion that the current lot are doing a good job, all things considered?

Annnyway. To my mind, she had a real job before entering politics, which means she's likely to be able to empathise with the electorate's concerns far better than say...the entire front bench on the Labour side.

Whether she can turn the party round remains to be seen, but her other job, leader of the opposition holding the government to account, is more vital than ever at the moment.

Does she sound like someone who can unite the party and reach agreement on the way forward for the party. I think not. The Tories need a negotiator.

Nobody can unite the Conservative Party. There are too many self centred highly opinionated over blown egos that actually believe in their own importance. Her first job is to kick some of the old dinosaurs up into house of Lords and gag the rest - somehow, God knows how.

That could have been said of the Labour Party previously. We need a strong resurgent Conservative movement to challenge Labour. Only the Conservatives can sort the NHS.

Hopefully she will take all the flack and then when needed Penny Mordaunt will step up again.

Unlikely without a by-election because she failed to get elected so she isn't an MP.  shame that she wasn't elected in place of Sunak.  I thought that she was an outstanding candidate.
