Well. I have fell on some bad luck with work! hours are down and a struggle ensues, leaving me with very little to get by on!

The sensible thing to do is sell off my gear, as I can't afford to continue! Food and bilks are more important, So over the next few days I will be listing my pigeon shooting gear!

I have listed some loading gear on BBS last night. and will be listing my guns at some point too.

Pains Me to lose all my gear! But feeding My son and myself and keeping a roof over our heads is more important!

When I get back on my feet I can always start again.

There will be some fishing gear too, Fly gear, Pike gear etc.

Well. Off now to do some dried food shopping. Been here before, I know I can do it again. sometimes you just have to enjoy a good thing while it lasts!

Same here LG.

We've been here before too. Just started cooking Dahl and Dampa to save buying bread. I'll get a Rabbit out of the freezer and make up a stew which I'll top up during the week and then turn it into a curry at the end of the week.

Too much month left at the end of the money

I'm selling off all the stuff I can. Just to let you know you're not alone and I'm sure there'll be plenty more as the cost of living carries on rising. Perhaps we should have a scrimpers & savers tips thread to share ideas on how to get by on sod-all.

Hope you can at least keep a cheapo to shoot some pigeons with.

Good luck and a quick upturn in your circumstances LG.

If you ever down my way let me know and I'll take you for a round of clays.

Keep an air rifle for a source of cheap meat.

Sorry to hear of the bad run. I'm a firm believer in that sometimes these things make us stronger. Too bad the people of the uk have to struggle when the politicians can't throw money out of the country fast enough in aid without looking after their own. Perhaps you should pen an open invite to one of the papers inviting Cameron and Clegg over for some dinner. Anyway don't want to make this political. Hope your luck turns around for you soon.

Good luck Geordie, you've got your priorities sorted, that's a positive start.

I've been skint, and my Dad was too, but looking back I don't feel that I ever missed out on anything as a kid because my parents made the effort for me and my sister. I laugh thinking about how Mum used to unpick my knitted jumpers when I grew out of them, so she could use the wool to knit bigger ones, and how there wasn't enough wool for a bigger one so they ended up different coloured stripes. I still love camping, like those family holidays.

What I'm trying to say is that as long as you give your lad your time, nothing else matters.

All the best.

If you have some gratis shooting either get a cheap gun or keep one back, you don't need an expensive gun to put stuff in the bag and something good on the table even a £20 SH single 12ga can do that

Got off benefits a while back Don't want to go back on yhem! I would rather go without that stigma again. !

Yeah,i get that one. Remember though for those of us that have paid in and are actively seeking more work there should be no stigma at all
