Attempting to extort money out of national organisations wishing to show respect and remembrance for the people who made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of our country!.........Dispicable!

If the national FA's pay the fine, it's as good as an admission that our national teams were wrong to wear the poppy!.......my opinion?........Tell FIFA to 'Foxtrot Oscar'

The men the FA's wanted and did keep in our minds had courage and bravery. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for the FA men, they will not go over the top, they will remain in their trenches and pay the money instead.

Least we forget,

Sky News, "England was told to pay £35,000 for "several incidents" during the match, including displaying a "political symbol and several cases of spectator misconduct", FIFA said."

"England's Football Association has already said it will contest any fine and believes its "legal position is right and our moral position is right"."

Difference between Football and Rugby. Permanent memorial at Twickenham, the Rose and Poppy Gates.

A century after England Rugby captain Ronnie Poulton Palmer was killed by a sniper bullet at Ypres, Twickenham stadium unveiled its first ever public memorial to the players who died in the Great War and all in the rugby family who have died in conflicts around the world.

On the eve of the Army v Navy match, a ceremony was held to unveil the Rose and Poppy Gates, which now stand under the West Stand’s gold lion and through which teams will walk en route to Twickenham international matches.

Nothing that happens in football surprises me, rotten to the core

What did I read about the Ireland team having the date of the Easter Uprising embroidered on their shirts and getting away with it?

If we paid FIFA the fine it would only end up in somebody's Swiss bank account.

FIFA make the Mafia and the Vatican look respectable

Yep, they got away with it but once they made a fuss over the poppy someone pointed that out and then they were going to investigate it.

Since when was a Remembrance poppy a political symbol?

The English FA definitely needs to stick to it's guns and tell FIFA to F off over this one.

I belive that the fine was £80k in total across the home nations. in footballing terms a tiny fraction of the loose change down the back of the couch.

Thats only about 1/4 0f one top players weekly wage.

Fifa are getting themselves sorted now that they've kicked out Blatter and co. You can argue the principle but at thhe end of the day they can still maintain enforce the rule which may stop a despot country from showing support for something really bad like ISIs etc. Wher they may impose a ban from all competitions etc.

The assorted FAs should pay the fine - to the British Legion.

And then demand an independent audit into Fifa's finances.

Then demand a refund from all the corrupt Fifa executives that were arrested and/or sacked.

Then demand a review of the World Cup voting scandals.

I'm all for playing by the rules, so let's start with a few important ones like corruption...

I naively thought that once Blatt and his cronies went we would start to see some common sense from FIFA. Apparently not, they are still as corrupt as ever. One of the things that trips my trigger is that the FIFA mafiosi mostly come from countries that also lost heroes during several conflicts.

They have no respect for their own fallen let alone the UK's

Don't pay the fines tell FIFA to do one and if our home teams are excluded from competitions so be it. However can't see it happen.

Totally agree with all of the comments above (that's a first for me)
