pigeon controller
Following the success on the bean stubble last week we headed straight to it this morning to find it half ploughed but birds feeding. We had found a wheat field that had not been cut in the area so we had a look at that as well and birds feeding. So we drove to the farm and the farmer said I will be ploughing the beans in later but you can shoot. We asked if we could put a string banger on the wheat and he said OK but I will not be cutting it but ploughing it in next week ( Shame). So we set up on the hedge between the bean stuble and seeded wheat in the exact same place as last week with the magnet and four birds on the beans and six birds on the wheat and all set up by 10.00 the birds came to us straight away and during the day the string banger with double bangs brought us a new wave of birds. As we were shooting in full view of the farmer we had to put a good show on and managed some impressive shooting and kept adding to the decoys with fifty plus both sides of the hedge all on spikes. It was more controlled than last week with the birds coming in ones and twos not twenties as last week. We knew by the amount of decoys we had out we were in for a good day. We stopped shooting at 17.15 and picked up two hundred and fourteen pigeons and eight corvids so it was a good day. 214 Pigeons and 7 corvids Edited October 14, 2017 by pigeon controller
