hodge911
My mrs suffers from amongst other things pretty bad epilepsy that the Drs know will never cured they try to keep the fits as well controlled as they can via meds but she still suffers multiple fits a month and cannot be left alone ... So to enable me to have a break from caring for her (have been since 1996) my sister will come and sit with for a few hours ..... and what a god send it is ..... until today . She was told at hospital yesterday that she has lung cancer that has spread to the lymph nodes and only has 3-6 months left with us .... I'm still a bit upset over losing jess the way I did and know its different losing my dog to my sister but I'm just a bit pee,d off off with all the poop at the min. Sorry peeps just venting Edited August 1, 2019 by hodge911

countryman
I understand your pain, I lost my sister my dad and my best friend my dog all in a short space of time. You feel that everything you love the most is going and you just have to watch it happen. The mind is a funny thing really because it does adjust once the grief starts to pass and you will get back up again, you never forget but you do find the strength to carry on. I wish you well. chris

team tractor
I lost my big sister at 19 through epilepsy and 21 years later I cry at music or films . I remember watching them with her and now it just breaks my heart. She never experienced family or the new job she didn’t know she’d got. She’s buried next to my 2 mates. Lost another 5/6 mates since and only 2 were old. Most in early 50’s . i know how you feel I promise. It’s going to tear your heart out but it shows your human. I went AWOL after as I couldn’t cope with the hurt . Im only 37 and seen way to much . 2 this year to cancer both 53/54 and another terminal at 57 . Hope it turns out as good as it can for you. i did John o groats to landsend on a c90 for epilepsy and managed £1300 but now when ever people donate to me for bits of wood I always donate it to it. Lord Geordie
Mate, what can I say 😞 that is just downright crappy. My Nan was diagnosed when I was around 19 and given 6 month! To our amazement “and in true nan style” she defied everyone and went on for years. And I hope this is the case for your Sister. It doesn’t remove the darkness that looms I know, but it gives you so much more time to not only prepare, but for you to enjoy time with her and make fond memories. There are times when I wish I could work miracles. Not to make myself rich, but to genuinely help prevent friends and family from suffering. Useless at quite a lot matey! But if you need someone just to scream at etc, you know where I am.
JohnfromUK
Really sorry to hear this; I don't know what more to say (anything seems inadequate) other than we all wish things were different and hope for a miracle.
Mr gen
Life is so cruel, I hope you get to spend as long as possible, with your sister and that you stay strong to get through these tough times. don't ever be sorry for venting when you are going through what you are. hodge911
THANKS EVERYONE.. (Unfortunately I know how hurt works with things like this having lost 2 children to sudden likenesses).... I just hope I can help her as much as possible in the time she has left . Being the youngest of 6 (54yr old) I've had to deal with losing both parents & my next in line sister but it never gets easier . All of your kind words are greatly appreciated

bruno22rf
Read your post this morning and gave loads of thought as to how I could perhaps make you feel a little better - 3 mile Dog walk in the early sunshine and the beauty of nature all around me allowed my mind to explore several possibilities but eventually I come to the same conclusion - the title of your post say's it better than I ever could. Be strong for your family.

Apologies for late reply I haven't been on as much as normal ....I have been taking my sis to her appointments . She starts her treatment next Tuesday 1 strong chemo then 5 radio . Was at the epilepsy specialist today with the wife. .they've reached the limits to what they can give her medication wise ..... until there's any new ones come out . They can't operate so for now where we are at is it ...... which in all honesty is OK considering she used to have 20+ seizures a day now she's down to around 10-15 a month a few less in a good month .... I'll tell her of your more than generous offer rimfire4969 Again thank you Edited August 10, 2019 by hodge911
