Centrepin
Apparently there are flocks of Ring Necked Parakeets around the Sheffield area? 30 - 50 in places. I wondered if anyone had seen any locally and where? I have no perms, despite trying, but other than pigeons, crows and magpies haven't seen any at all. manthing
No doubt the grey sqizzer loving loons will be all for these. If it wasn't so bad for the local ecosystem I'd wish that Japanese knotweed on the idiots. Let them see what an invasive non native species is capable of. prem1234
I work near Heathrow Airport and I see flocks of them there.....started off with 1 or two and them getting chased by other birds but no now.
Vince Green
Lots of them round here, had them for years but definitely increasing in numbers
Fatcatsplat
Very hard to shoot if they see you. They make pigeons look positively pedestrian with the way they jink about

Dibble
Thousands in South London, I've seen them fight it out with grey squirrels for nest sites and the population of greys seems to be falling. Worryingly I don't hear many woodpeckers either.

figgy
They've been in the northeast for at least a decade I can remember. Local park has them. Noisy destructive things.

GingerCat
Theres thousands in South London. Would strip fruit trees literally in minutes. Richmond park was infested with them, every hole in a tree had one poking it's head out so no chance of native wildlife using them. Seen flocks of many thousand roasting and the noise is immense. Not seen any in north lincs yet but I'm sure it's only a matter of time.
Dibble
12 Parakeets * 6 Thin slices of lean beef, 4 4 Rashers of bacon, 3 3 Hard-boiled eggs 1/2 ts Finely chopped parsley 1/4 ts Dried parsley Finely grated lemon peel Salt & pepper Puff paste Flour * Parakeets are a small, long-tailed tropical parrot. Method: Prepare the birds, and truss them like a quail or any other small bird. Line a pie-dish with the beef, over it place 6 of the paraquets, intersperse slices of egg, parsley and lemon-rind, dredge lightly with flour, and season with salt and pepper. Cover with the bacon cut into strips, lay the rest of the birds on the top, intersperse slices of egg, season with salt and pepper, and sprinkle with parsley and lemon-rind as before; three-quarter fill the dish with cold water, cover with puff-paste, and bake in a quick oven. Time: About 2-1/2 hours. SUFFICIENT for about 12 persons.

Centrepin
I've still to see any at all in or around Sheffield despite being told there are huge flocks. Methinks that they must be in the city, parks or houses for easy food. Certainly non out in the sticks.
Walker570
Eyes peeled AA S200 at the ready. We feed small birds every day and nothing so far on the feeder.
