NoBodyImportant
It was a trend in American to take a few photos back in December( last month under Trump) to compare to life under Biden in December 2021. Well things are pretty gloomy three months in. My Food bill had doubled, gas when from $1.75 a gallon to $2.75. Beef went from $1.99lbs to $3.31. Bread .88 to $1.08 Everything is doubling in price. Many companies are laying off around me. It’s not fun anymore. Edited March 23, 2021 by NoBodyImportant
Pangolin
Love him or hate him, Trump was the last bastion of the US, personally I liked a lot of things he achieved, I dont think sleepy Joe Biden will be good for the US. That’s what I’d do. Fresh eggs, home cured bacon? Bake your own bread. Grow your own veg’. It doesn’t get much better. 🙂👍

Lady on the radio the other day who’s mother is in a nursing home, bed ridden, and doesn’t know her own name somehow requested a mail in ballot and voted. My dad who has never voted in his entire life went to vote for the first time somehow registered as a democrat and voted in previous elections. oldypigeonpopper
Hello, that still seems reasonable compared to uk, but prices for groceries are creeping up in supermarkets , including petrol etc, I think this covid situation has not reached a peak yet in terms of unemployment and shops and business closing

figgy
Boden is just a Trojan horse, I'm waiting for the switcheroo to happen. Trump wasn't wrong about the vote rigging but plenty in power wanted him gone. Stitched him up like a kipper.

Where is the proof and where is the proof that as a direct result of hos Presidency, that Biden has caused prices to rise? With a global pandemic, I think you will find that prices of commodities have increased. My wife bemoans the increase in prices at the Supermarkets and friends in France are saying the same! Did ‘sleepy’ cause these too? BTW, not particularly enamoured with Sleepy or his predecessor.

Unfortunately those manipulating Bidens strings will have ruined the country once again. Said it from the start that Biden was a Trojan Horse to move more radically left people into power. Just as an aside my wife trotted across the kitchen for another cup of tea this morning in fine Biden style. I think that jigging trot he does to try and make himself look younger will become known as a BIDEN. It is so blatantly obvious that the election was a fiddle with more and more evidence still coming out but the corrupt media will not report it. Did ‘sleepy’ cause these too? BTW, not particularly enamoured with Sleepy or his predecessor. America under Republicans have what we call farm subsidies. Democrats are very anti subsidies. Farm subsidies are basically this. The government predicts that America will need 100lbs of corn. So Americans plants 150lbs of corn just incase part of the crop is damaged. If America only plants the 100lbs it needs and 25% is flooded then 25% of the population starves to death. But if 150lbs of corn goes to market it will crash the price of corn and next year farmers will not plant any corn. So the government pays farmers to let 50lbs of corn rot in the field. So through the use of farm subsidies America controls the cost of food and keeps it low.
Cosmicblue
Gas @ $2.75 a gallon? We'd love that here - ours is over $8.08 US a gallon - our system sees 60% of the cost as tax. Not a totally accurate conversion - US Pints have 16 fluid ounces, where as Imperial Pints have 20.
NoBodyImportant
It’s basically a way to insure that Americans have enough to eat if large crops are destroyed but it is very wasteful as it consumes lots a fuel and resources just to waste the food. I have personally seen over 1000 pigs go to the landfill.

henry d
I just had a little search and apparently DJT pumped $28B into farming in 2019/20 partly due to China not buying soya beans due to his tariffs and it didn't pass through Congress. Another thing is that independent economic analysis found out that farmers were compensated by up to twice the amount that they lost out by, perhaps that is why you are paying more now? Perhaps , rather than blaming Trump, you could critically think why the prices have gone up so much in 3 months ? Americans will not see anything BUT the price increases, and will automatically tie the new administration into the reason why. Surely they would continue Trumps strategy of pumping money into farming, rather than become the object of the peoples annoyance at the rise in living costs, IF that was indeed the case ? And really, its no good blaming covid , or China, the pandemic has been around for a year now, and food prices would have gone up long ago if they were the main reason. Rightly so , you cant blame Biden or the dems directly, so what actually has changed ? Perhaps the farmers are seeing bad times ahead, or their costs have gone up ? These are not small increases.
