Just heard my first Cuckoo, 5a.m this morning, anyone heard one yet?

Yep heard a couple last week and this week. About 8.45 am.

Heard one yesterday , first one I have heard in a long time.

I have only ever seen one in my long life and that was when I was a teenager.

Yes it always brings back memories of being a young lad when I hear them. You almost never hear them now and it's only when you hear them again that you realise that they're gone.

Been in the office 2 days this week now - plenty of Cuckoo's in there!!

Yes, first one, two weekends ago. Heard one in three different locations.

Haven't heard one for a good few years, used to hear one on a particular farm virtually every year. Would love to see one but never have.

Yes,  I heard one on Wednesday about 05.00

Heard one last week, have often seen them when fishing.

Once was able to see three around the one lough, one in front of us, one on a dead tree behind us and one on a lonely bush on a crannog to our right. Have see two once or twice but never had seen 3 at the one time before.

Was fishing at llyn brenig last Tuesday heard the cuckoo first thing in the morning sounds lovely there is two every year calling to each other lovely to hear them

No cuckoo heard today, I drove to the spot I've heard them for a couple of years 🙄🙄

Heard my first one today up here in the outer Hebrides, late this year. looking forward to warm weather when we get the duet of Corncrake and Cuckoo all night, the only time it pays to be deaf in one ear..😏

Really sad how few people now hear cuckoos. I recently posted on fb about hearing them and grouse whilst fishing. The reaction from a number of pals was, “haven’t heard one for years”. I am fortunate to live where they are still seen and heard but am pretty sure if I still lived in the south I too would be saying this. I am guessing a lot of this is habitat loss but then I am no scientist.
