Rewulf
3 hours ago, oowee said: The EU commissioner Ylva Johansson recently cited the need for 1 million more workers in the EU to keep pace with demographic change, saying it was “a challenge to do that in an orderly way”. Spindelegger said the numbers were much higher, with 1 million needed in Germany alone and 500,000 in Austria. If the private sector cannot recruit, it will simply move investments elsewhere, Spindelegger warned. The easy answer would be to build the factories in Sub Saharan Africa then wouldnt it ? Then all these highly qualified workers wouldnt need to travel here in the first place ? 3 hours ago, oowee said: ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Greece's parliament on Tuesday overwhelmingly approved new legislation that will grant tens of thousands of undocumented migrants residence and work permits amid a shortage of unskilled labor. The law drafted by the center-right government links the right to residence with proof of employment. Unemployment in Greece runs at around 15 %, compared to the UK at 4% and Germany at 6 % , but they need to import 3rd world labour ? I think someone is talking BS. Wymondley
We've needed immigration in the past to do the jobs the English either thought were beneath them or were just too bone idle to do. We now need more immigrants to do the jobs even the immigrants won't do...Apparently. If only we could give work permits to the boat people, at least we'd have all those doctor, nurse, teacher vacancies filled.

They get a permit for five years and then they must go. They are not entitled to any benefits and accrue no pension rights A bit like a company employing temps. That could work here. Put them on a contract.

I was just looking at new employment compacts with Ukraine and Denmark to create new employment opportunities in arms manufacturing partnerships. Why can we not come up with anything new here? Pushkin
We all suffer one way or another for having a woke attitude in the past towards accepting people from another country. Something that at the time was good (apart from the racism it envoked) There were jobs for everyone who came over to us but now!!!!!!! Well now we are struggling to cope and soon, we will be struggling even more as the imigrants elderly relatives need more and better care and attention from the NHS, And in our schools, we will soon see the same as has been happening in America, native people's children being moved away from their area schools to make way for teaching the children of illegal immigrants to enable them to speak basic english. Where do the nativer children go? To large gymnasiums that are not fit for purpose but will have to do as America has a president who won't keep the border secure. Same set up as ours only it is not just a border we are trying to contain (the english channel is about the nearest thing to a border like Americas current issue), but we need to patrol a whole uk coastline. Apart from enforcing deportation on those who want to break the rules, we need to firm up. We need enough staff to do the paperwork and all the requisit background checks before even 1 Legal attempt at migration should be considered. All the rest can be boated back to France. Newbie to this
Just heard on the news that 16,000 are being employed in areas of job vacancy urgency. This is while they are still awaiting their asylum claims. Here's the kicker, at 80% of the going wage. No wonder they don't want to stop the boats............. No idea, but they lose the £49 a week the tax payer has to hand out. But I think they are still housed at the tax payer's expense. 80% isn't bad when your outgoings are paid for by the tax payer. Until we get completely new leadership. Labour is on 47% in the polls, we have nothing to loose, if reform get a decent vote at the elections there are 2 future outcomes, reform could win the following election, or the Conservatives would need to actually deliver what the public want, or become a fringe party. 12 hours ago, Vince Green said: I have always supported the RNLI but just before Christmas they were selling Christmas Cards and calendars as usual in Cornwall and I told the man on the stall how unhappy I was about giving money to pay for rescuing migrants. 12gauge82
Watched this earlier. Is it just me, I was absolutely shocked that they reported half of social housing goes to people not born in the uk. I knew this were bad,but that's utter lunacy. Anyone wondering why the children can't afford to get on the property ladder would do well to watch this report.

Hello, From what is see and read most are just young men , all without documentation, hardly any coming from countries that is unsafe, and not likely to be in a profession like you mention, i would deport every one of them , just think what we could do with the 6 Million£s a day it costs to keep them??? one day would pay for the Hire of a lot of Air Planes with Armed Guards

12gauge82
Apparently migrants already in the uk are funding their family members to come here illegally. So as if it's not bad enough, the more illegals that come, the more that will multiply. We need the tories and labour out immediately, or this will never stop.
