deershooter
Yesterday was the worst day of my life , at 7 am yesterday morning I lost my Dad he was only 73 and cercumed to a massive stroke He guided me through life and although he was not a shooting man taught me every thing I know about engineering . When every one else's dad built snowmen mine built snow trains ,snow fork trucks and windmills , it didn't matter if it was cricket ,football, fishing, dad was always better than us boys . In engineering dad was a legend ! He made jet powered model aeroplanes ,clocks ,sheds, a fully restored XK150 Jaguar ,mini motorbikes and go carts and miniature cars for the grandchildren . Dad completely designed and made from scratch including the computer controller a CNC milling/ engraving machine to cut out the clock parts. When something went wrong we just had to phone dad and he was here to put things right tools in hand ! The shooting game slipped a generation as dads uncle was a gamekeeper on a local estate ,I started shooting at the age of 14 . Dad never agreed to the killing of anything he would not even swat a fly or spider . With respect for my father I have decided to stop live quarry shooting . Dad has amassed loads of wood and metal working equipment over the last few years some new and still boxed I will be listing this in the neer future in the for sales section as mum will have to move to a smaller place . I have my own workshop and unfortunately don't have room for everything . Dad didn't retire until he was 70 and we only got 3 years after that it's just so sad Your broken hearted son Dean Edited May 1, 2016 by deershooter

team tractor
My dads 64 and my best friend if I'm honest. I'd be lost without him. All I can say is 73 isn't young or old but at least it's a good way through it. The Mrs lost her mum at 53 when she was 14 and after having our daughter last year I can see she needs her more than ever. Sounds like he had a good life to me so remember the good not the bad and smile when you think of him . I've promised myself to smile when I think of my sister .
