12gauge82
Bah humbug indeed, Christmas is my favourite time of year, mainly because it means all my family and friends get together, which is usually the only time in the year this happens. arm3000gt
+2 I love this time of year. I usually have a bit of leave left so usually take a few weeks off in December. I use this time to visit new clay ground(s), see old friends, have family get togethers. Plenty of beer and cheese and port and food and beer. It will be even better this year as it will be my daughters first Christmas. Block out the endless adverts and use it as a time to see people. I find people more willing/able to meet this time of year. Who wants to go to theme parks, to the beach in the cold and rain. Offer someone a couple of hours out of the house in a warm cosy pub always a winner. I never have a perfect Christmas but always try to have a good one. getthegat
Good time to chill out, no work to think about for a few days. Being divorced and not being with my son's for the big day is hard every year. Dad and favourite uncle gone, mum in a home with dementia....... crikey it's looking grim already, but me and the good lady will have a nice time, her son and his girlfriend there, dog walking and hopefully a few friends round. Yeah nothing is perfect, it's what you make it. Really miss the boxing day shoot I used to have back in Somerset with my Uncle George, now that was perfect. Oh one last thing, not Christmas related, saw a woodcock this evening, just after dark, flew by my workshop. Cool.
Mice!
Pretty sure our last Christmas was good, as others have said, friends family and food. Normally have to do a few things I don't want to do as do we all, but grin and bare it, you'll be back in work quickly enough so make the most of it. I've worked Xmas days new years eves in the pub trade many moons ago, boxing day and bank hols engineering because the pay was too good to say no to, now its friends family and food, a bit of snow would be nice for the kids, on the downside it could be my mums last Christmas so we will all be making sure she is spoilt silly and enjoys it as much as possible. cheer up your only here once. team tractor
I look forward to time off work and a chance to spend time with my kiddies. ive lost grandparents, friends (lots) and my sister so it's not unknown for me to cry but i kick myself into touch and remember the kids need happy times and happy memories . It's so special for my 2 year old and she melts my heart the excitement of coming down stairs first to check santas been and then filming the kids walking in. Good food to the point of making me feel sick ive a meet up / shoot planned with my good friends off here. Just enjoy it
Albert 888
It's just another day, hindered by all the shops, fuel stations shutting shop, and all the bulk buying maniacs. If you want to celebrate something why not something that makes sense. Santa and baby jesus are figments of someones imaginations. Every day is a celebration day, celebrate life and friendship etc not b/s.

figgy
I hate the house being done up with all the glittery sparkly carp like a bit of natural decoration with woodland sprigs and dried orange slices and candles etc the commercialism on tv and in shops but like the festivities the food and the company of family and friends. A bit of good cheer is ok in my book. would love to go away somewhere nice one year just the wife and I but mrs won’t have it.

adzyvilla
10 days of no work for just 3 days holiday this year, always a winner! Get to spend some quality time with the family, sister always hosts now as she has the biggest house. Got my pup to start training, do a little bit of beating, and for Christmas this year I'm buying myself a new gun. Good times.
panoma1
The run up to Christmas now starts in September/October, by the time the day arrives it can only be an anticlimax!.....and for me it certainly is!
Scully
Not sure how this Christmas will pan out. Having left the missus last January, and kids not ready to meet new OH yet, and my ex OH not keen on me being in her house I’m not sure what’s going to happen. Will call in with kids presents and take it from there. Must admit I’m going to miss spending the day with them and the party games. We usually have a really good laugh. We’ll see. Bigbob
Last couple of years the daughters company had her pub open for meals at xmas , first year she gave her staff the day off , dad was meeter and greeter keeping the fire going , son was serving food , mum doing the dishes and daughter and boyfriend cooking , it was great really humbling old folk saying they couldn't buy a meal at home for that amount and great company . folk seeing the pub open and coming in , some just for a coffee , some folk had booked a meal across the road and it was closed came to complain to us then paid for a meal , We got home at 4 pm ate our meal at 8 pm Next year she said dad it was so successful there's two sitting this year i had a wee moan but we buckled down and ate in the pub after we tidied up yet again a very humbling experience folk coming in for a coffee and paying with a handful of coppers who i thought where homeless and wanting the heat and company but on that one day you dont judge This year the company has cancelled xmas in the pub so planning a quiet day in my own house surrounded by family after the animals are done and dogs walked its going to be great
