Wish him well and a speedy recovery.
For all of the criticism of how the Government is handling this, other Nations have proven- there isn’t a right/wrong path to follow and I think he has be stoic in his determination to carry on, whilst suffering his own issue.

But on a side note- there was me thinking that he, like celebrities, had been deliberately “given a mild dose” - see people, rumour and conspiracy. If it’s not ‘first hand’ or Publicly declared then a pinch of salt please.

Mild dose doesn't  get you in hospital.

Yes I thought it must be very serious because if it was minor they would treat him at home.

I thought they wouldn’t want to panic the nation. Would have thought they could of got a full medical team and equipment into No10 if needed.

Scary times. Come on Boris, got to pull through it!!

Whatever your political leaning, I think Boris has been a breath of fresh air.

I hope he and others who are ill make a speedy and full recovery.

👍

My exact thoughts, I was amongst people who thought he was only good enough for a laugh but I’ve been very impressed by him in every way. Regardless of our individual political favouritism we should always retain enough class to wish everyone good health and right now the country needs him to pull through.

Downing Street are reiterating that it was a precautionary measure for tests and not an emergency admission.

The scans can also show whether pneumonia is catching hold. Dr Bharat Pankhania, senior clinical lecturer at the University of Exeter’s medical school, said it was not possible to determine whether Johnson had pneumonia based solely on his admission to hospital. It may be just precautionary. If a patient is developing pneumonia, it can get progressively worse very quickly and hence early admission upon the first signs of difficulty with breathing are very important,” he said.

Doubtless true enough but...

... a terrible case of double standards...

Different rules for different people. One dies on the floor in front of her children because she's not a priority and other takes up a bed for 'precautionary tests'. But perhaps Boris is properly ill and isn't telling the truth about it. If it's the second, I hope he gets better soon.

He didn't look too well when it was first reported that he had Covid19, but recent pics really make him look quite ill. It just shows that this terrible virus can strike anybody at any time, and for somebody who's normally as full of life as Boris to look so rough really brings it home.

Get well soon Boris .... we need you at the helm!

It’s’ awful that anyone is dying but it’s a sad reality.

But also it’s blindingly obvious that some people are going to be a higher priority to treat than others.

That’s the whole concept of them giving ventilators to younger people without pre-existing health conditions.

The same will be done for people who are going to be fundamentally important to keeping the whole country going.

Do you not think Boris, the Prime Minister, should be a priority?

There isn't a shortage of beds at the moment though.

Sure, I'm playing Devil's advocate a bit. To be honest it's my guess that he's actually quite ill. And that would be typical quite frankly. The man can't even be ill without lying about - sorry 'putting some spin on' - the relevant facts. Anyway, much as I dislike him, I hope he gets better and soon.

Or perhaps he's showing the British 'stiff-upper lip' and leadership by not wanting to cause panic and worry?

In some areas at the moment we have plenty of beds, Hospital where I work is just over 50% occupancy.

Not sure how long that will last though. I managed to get plans in place to discharge 8 people last week. 2 of them left hospital, 2 of them became too sick to leave and 4 were on a ward that was so hard hit they quarantined the whole ward and it's locked down. Of the 2 that I managed to get discharged, 1 died at home y'day, and the other is back in hospital, and it's not looking good for him, touch and go. Think I would have achieved as much if I'd just stared at the wall the last 2 weeks 😞

How does it work with bringing Cov patients into a hospital? I would have thought that there'd be a real danger of accidentally letting the virus loose among sick people least able to fight it off. Surely there must be some kind of separate isolation wing?

They’re trying to keep it separate but it’s near impossible! It’s on almost every ward, but people with it or suspected being kept in isolation as much as possible and kept away. Strict protocols (supposed) to be followed.

Looking at their plans and expectations though, we are expecting every single ward in the hospital bar 1 to be ‘Covid Wards’ in the peak. It’ll be on every ward before next week.

He’s now in intensive care.

Yes breaking now, on the intensive care ward.

Last night was being given oxygen, they’re saying he’s most likely got pneumonia.

Scary! Praying for Boris to pull through.
