dob
Is there anything on the quarry list that you will not shoot, I pesonaly won't shoot hares but that's the only thing I leave alone.
fenboy
I shoot the occasional hare but pass up the chance to shoot loads . I do not shoot stoats or weasels .
sitsinhedges
My Missus would shoot me if I shot a hare so I leave them be. A few perms want the foxes leaving be too.
la bala
An old fellah once told me you need short arms to shoot hares.
panoma1
Hare! I have had plenty of opportunity of both types but aint bothered to shoot one in over 40 years!
bluesj
I don't shoot jays, don't see many on my permissions. or hares for the same reason
figgy
Don't bother much with Hares and only if farmer says knock a few over there's too many. After a few woodcock if lucky enough in a season I won't raise my gun to anymore. Don't see many Jays where I shoot so the odd one I don't bother with, others who shoot it will if the get the chance. If my Wife had her way she wouldn't let me shoot Teal as she thinks they're baby ducks, no matter how many times I tell her different or show her. kent
Sometimes shooting hares will increase Hare numbers The issue it fixes is old hares holding territory without successful breeding I don't shoot anything that don't need shooting in terms of vermin and I don't hunt any quarry for sport I don't eat It's all about location
Scully
I don't think there's anything I wouldn't shoot, but there are a few things I would prefer not to shoot.
Wingman
Hare for sure. Call me a softy but the screaming upsets me if you don't kill them outright.
saddler
Don't shoot hares. I also find that you only need to drop one rambler at the start of the season & the rest of them steer clear...
12gauge82
I won't shoot anything that doesn't require shooting whether it's pigeons or hares, that's just me though

Hendrix's rifle
Wont shoot hares or stoats. Not many hares round my way because of ******... Am more than happy to walk past one at 20 yards and just leave it be unless told SPECIFICALLY to shoot them. Stoats are funny little critters. Anything else is fair game
Houseplant
I am marinating a hare right now To answer the question, I feel uncomfortable shooting any animal that I'm not going to eat. Makes it a little difficult when the land owner wants a non-table species removed. I shoot possums at his request, but wouldn't otherwise. He is also spitting blood about a feral cat which is making a nuisance of itself. Had it in the crosshairs for a good 5 minutes the other night, but didn't pull the trigger. Kept quiet about that! May pull the trigger next time though because he is planning to poison it.
kiffy
I have one farm with quite a few hares, I've shot one and didn't enjoy it.. eating him that is not shooting him so I'm in no rush to shoot any more, if the farmer asks I reluctantly will Other than hares I'm easy and will do what evers asked as long as its legal.. only real gripe I have is wasting things that can be eaten, ive seen brids dumped in the corners of fields before... really boils my blood that one

FatFreddysCat
Moorhens, can't even see why they're on the quarry list. They're not even a sporting target like snipe which I also don't shoot as there's nothing on them.
paulnix
Hares and Jays I wouldn't, like seeing them about and although jay numbers gone up a fair bit last two years still like seeing them about, probably wrong but I always think jays show a barometer of what wildlife is about. Hate to see rabbits or birds wasted, no excuse as with a little asking around they are easy to get rid of to people delighted and grateful to receive, I got a guy who goes mad for squirrels of all things.
