Esca
Just a straw poll to see what bore shotguns people use/like. I use a 28g and 20g my lad uses a 16g and 20g. When we go out on the pheasants we always get comments (intrested not negative).
davewh100
12g only
foosa
20g on the pheasant, 12g on the clays and either on the crows but mostly 20g.
Wingman
12 gauge and 16 gauge, although its the 12 gauge 95% of the time.
fortune
I've got 28,20 and 12 in various configurations and I don't really have a logical preference. I'm not to bad a shot and have never felt undergunned with the smaller guns basically because if the pattern is centered on the target it does the job required. Each one has good points. I like the 28 because it is so light that it is nice to take for a walk along the hedgerows. The 20 because it again is light and I have had some superb shooting memories with it and my late mother bought it for me as a present. Everyone who has shot my 20 loves it and a friend has said that he wants it let to him in my will but he would have to fight off several others who covet it. I love my 12's because they are so versatile and the ammo is relatively inexpensive compared to 16s & 28s. If I were forced to choose one it would probably be the Berretta 20 that mother bought for me as a present and as I begin to age I'm sure that I could use it effectively until I'm forced to pack up. Bungle The Bear
I am in the UK, so consequently I shoot 12 bores exclusively - not gauges though !

Wb123
12 only, as with the girlfriend. I'd rather like to try something else but as a leftie the second hand market is diabolical. Once back on the mainland if I spot something in a lower gauge that vaguely fits I'll snap it up to try. The girlfriend is perfectly happy with 12 bore and given the increase in cartridge price for everything else is not interested in trying something different. ChrisPCarter
Currently 410, 20 and 12 but I'm looking for a 28 too. 12 for clays, pigeons and game. 20 for game when I fancy a change or it's a long walk. 410 when I fancy a bit of fun and want to test my skills. Big Al
12g only. I've tried 20 but I prefer a light sbs in 12 if I want a lighter gun. No cartridge confusion and 12g cartridges are cheaper. Edited December 1, 2016 by Big Al

Harry Callahan
12 and 410, because that's what I have. But I do like a 20, and would happily use one as in place of the 12.
hawkfanz
12g sa on crows, everything else 20g or 28g.
neutron619
I switch between 28ga and 16ga depending on what the birds are doing and what ammo I've got in stock. With the 12ga, I have one or two shots at ducks most seasons, but it hardly comes out now. The .410 is on order...
