nobbyathome
My local woods is covered with this weed the stems are quite prickly but soft to touch and it’s like weed crack to my lab as soon as I let her off the lead she is face first into it and in a millisecond the bush is gone can anyone tell me what it is? Is it poisonous? So far she has been ok with it
JDog
Sticky Willy or Galium aparine. Dogs eat it at this time of year and I believe that it helps their digestive systems.

Benthejockey
I think cleavers is its agricultural name. Covered in little sticky buds later on. We used to just call it sticky grass and then throw it at the girls in primary school.

Mice!
I stick it on the misses, or the kids stick it on me, bleedin nuisance if you have a long haired dog, spent ages in the past getting it out of the gwp's coat.
Walker570
Common name here in the Midlands is cleavers. Just now it is sprouting up everywhere. If you pull it up make sure you get every bit, right down to the root as it breaks of just above the ground and will shoot again. As said a serious pain for spaniel owners and for fleece coats/jackets. Specialised spray needed once it gets established. I have to spend a day here going round this next week pulling it out.
