Ultrastu
The guy is a miss guided fool . And unfortunately for every one .some one in the royal desision making house ,has decided to bestow a cbe on him . He will obviously feel this gives him more power and makes his views right . God help us all, to have to power to fight his (and his buddys) nonsense . He wants to consign all hunting to the history books. (Over my dead body ) or his , would be better . Scully
Why does he have to wait until then? As a BBC employee he has more opportunity than most, for getting his sentiments known to anyone at anytime.

Was just thinking that they could drag him out of retirement for this one. Just need one of the protection guys to trap his hand in the car door just hard enough to put him in a foul mood. I'd pay good money to hear/see the result.

Westward
I've said this before but it needs repeating. Packham suffers from a form of autism called asperger's syndrome. As such, once he makes his mind up about something, whatever it may be, it becomes an obsession and like all obsessives he'll bang on about it at every opportunity and go on doing it forever. He's not a fool and he's not stupid, far from it, but once he's got hold of something he'll never, ever, accept any view that doesn't correspond with his. I'm not defending him, just pointing out that all we can ever do about him is rant.
CaptC
May I suggest that PW member's read the latest Blog on the Guntrader website - It appears that the venerable Packham has, allegedly, been using his TV appearances to promote certain products by the back door? Westward - you have summed him up in a nut shell! Edited January 22, 2019 by CaptC
Brodie
If Packham feels so strongly, he should decline the award. Simple

McSpredder
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/God_complex A god complex is an unshakable belief characterized by consistently inflated feelings of personal ability, privilege, or infallibility. A person with a god complex may refuse to admit the possibility of their error or failure, even in the face of irrefutable evidence, intractable problems or difficult or impossible tasks. The person is also highly dogmatic in their views, meaning the person speaks of their personal opinions as though they were unquestionably correct. Someone with a god complex may exhibit no regard for the conventions and demands of society, and may request special consideration or privileges. Is Aspergers Syndrome a form of mental abnormality/illness? as if that's what Packham has? It seems to be very similar to a God complex! Lol! ShootingEgg
For all his faults, and yes there are mamy, he also does fight things like palm plantations, and is very against them, he did a documentary in sumatra and showing the deforestation etc, and how its slowly destroying the life of hunter gatherers. Ao he may eind us up about grouse and pheasant shooting but he can sometimes point his attention to bigger world issues.
sabel25
So let's hope Beaulieu put planning permission in for a palm plantation or a cannabis farm in the New Forest That might keep the clown occupied and leave the grouse and pheasant shooting alone
