Scully
I’m not too concerned; my work has been very weather dependant for the past few weeks....they don’t get it right too often, and it was only a day ahead forecast! 🙂
hedge
It usually gets a mention in the Daily Fail most years. Time will tell. I do think we are due some snow this winter but can't be more precise than that. 🙂
Walker570
About time we had a real cold one. Seems we have had summer through winter in the last few years and nature often doesn't know where it is. Look forward to it. Well prepared. Zapp
I like a decent winter and feel cheated when we have yet another 4 months of 7 degrees and drizzle. We got through the weeks long freeze back in 2009 with only the fireplaces which was hard going at the time but also quite good fun.

Would that be the same, Silv'ry Tay, subject of the critically, comically acclaimed worst poetry ever to make it into the English language? It does look very silvery. Raja Clavata
The harsher the winter the more trips I make to Snowdonia, so bring it on I say, only issue is I'm not sure they can reliably predict the weather this Friday let alone circa 4 months time... VicW
We moved into our first home of our own on New Years Day in the winter of 1962/63. It was small caravan at Avebury in Wiltshire. Nothing will phase us after that winter. Vic.

We were trying to get out of the country early 2010 I was watching the monitors at Gatwick seeing all the airports closing down due to snow started with Düsseldorf then quickly spread across Europe, they were de icing the plane as we boarded and were possibly the last ones out ironically we have the same trip planned for next year about the same time 🙈

Started snowing/freezing on the 26th of November and didn't start thawing until the 26th of December. Didn't realise how thick the river had frozen until boxing day when I though a cow had fallen into the river from the noise but it was the ice smashing and breaking up on the river. A few weeks later we had another freeze. Then I think we had a melting summer afterwards!
