Doc Holliday
They said on the news that the personality he put over on BP wasn't the real him and that it was a part he created for the show. Shame, as many people loved him for that and I, for one, can't help feel a little disillusioned on hearing that. RIP anyway.
ditchman
when ever i think of him...i remember him with a live baby elephant in the studio ...on a lead.......then it wee's on the floor...he slips on it and drags him thro it................ RIP boy... (think he had dementia for many years....did well to last)
saddler
RIP VERY sad news. He'll be happy to be reunited with Shep again. The BP presenters that followed him & his ilk seem to have all been given a personality bypass in comparison.

fortune
Not quite as you remembered, but still hilarious https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wzJbR-PuCM Well remembered that man. I just said to the wife that I thought that it was the keeper who went base over apex. You could see that the old boy was a bit stressed up by it. When he went over he just sat there. All it needed was for the elephant to stick it's trunk up her skirt!

Dougy
The really good ole days. Loved the programme and filled with fond memories of Valerie Singleton and her sticky back plastic. Proper kids programmes, not the rubbish American type stuff we see now.

Vince Green
There was a clip on TV of him climbing up Nelson's Column in the 70s when they were cleaning it. No safety harnesses in those days. Can you imagine that happening today? Edited May 31, 2017 by Vince Green
bruno22rf
A true Gentleman with a calming voice that could entertain without effort, it's a real shame that he did not seem to go on to bigger and more lucrative TV work when he was easily capable of running rings around most modern "presenters", God Bless you John.
