chrisjpainter
Paddy McGuinness and Andrew Flintoff will be the new presenters of Top Gear, the BBC has confirmed. Freddie was a great cricketer, but he's a useless commentator - and that's on a subject he knows well! This is a terrible, terrible idea. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-45937945
walshie
Humour, wit and entertainment value. They've got none of those. Top Gear was finished long before Clarkson, Hammond and May left.
Scully
Sounds dire. I can honestly say I watched part of one episode when Evans started hosting, and not even part of one since. Great shame, it was compulsive Sunday night viewing at one time.

It was one of the very few things on TV that I watched and it was the chemistry between them that made it watchable but I agree with walshie that it had passed it's sell by date several years before Clarkson got fired. Who is Paddy McGuiness? Is he another D list celeb who's famous simply for being famous?
TIGHTCHOKE
Well, I will watch it first and then decide whether it is as bad as you are all saying it will be! Edited October 22, 2018 by TIGHTCHOKE Syntax
getthegat
I quite liked it when Evans left and Joey boy Matt was in charge. Clarkson got way to big for his boots, but these two clowns....... which janitor signed them up😵

He presents Take Me Out, but I don't know what that is and feel no compunction to look into it.
ditchman
was angela ripon one of the first top gear presenters ?
ordnance
They still don't get it, keeping the program format the same and changing presenters was never going to work.
Paul1440
I think that Clarkson and May had said there was possibly 1 series left in them before bowing out. What I liked was that although they made it look light they did things that the snowflakes would never do. Can you imagine the fall out if a countryfile presenter had been pushed into hole cut into the ice into water when arttic training to watch a cuddly seal do something cute from a safe distance. All 3 ended up in hospital for some reason. Not for minor injuries either. Don't get me going on countryfile.. or should I say petfile.. redial
Freddie must be making more money now than when he played cricket.
rimfire4969
I like Freddie, I think could fit the role well. On League of their own he is quick and likes a prank and he has always been one to stick a finger up at authority. Paddy I have no idea, never watched anything with him in apart from Phoenix Nights many years ago.

Paddy McGuiness apart from the take me out thing (I also have never watched it) was one half of Max & Paddy with Peter Kay, also played him in Phoenix Nights, (The two bouncers on the door)
yates
I saw Paddy MCGuinness live a couple of years ago and it was embarrassingly unfunny. No more than a below average working mans club blue comedian and that’s being kind

Muddy Funker
No point in flogging a dead horse and that's what top gear is now.
Paul1440
I 'm a bit surprised they didn't get Robbie Savage to join Flintoff rather than Mcguiness. They are quite entertaining together on the 5 live Monday night radio show Flintoff, Savage and the pingpong guy.

Best thing paddy ever said was they couldn't do a program with blokes behind the lights because they wouldn't turn them off. Pretty sure flintoff was really good behind the wheel on league of there own.
kernel gadaffi
Paddy McGuinness is dire, his act is at least 40 years old, reminds me of "Brucie", he wasn't funny either.
old man
Typical BBC carp. Just more of the cheap carp they are becoming known for? The whole thing needs outsourcing?
Gordon R
Paddy McGuinness - former baths attendant at Horwich Pool, Bolton - mate of Peter Kay. The least talented actor in Phoenix nights and has made several awful TV series since. Freddie Flintoff - decent cricketer - not very bright and the worst boxer on the planet. It will be the end for Top Gear.
ditchman
i think they ought to ask Jerermy (all lorry drivers are prostitute killers) Clarkson , to present it....he should be quite good
