samboy
Hi gang. Just been to the car wash in my local Tesco's. And they want £35 for inside and out. I told them to poke it. I'd like to earn £35 for about 15 minutes work.
JDog
It may take much longer than fifteen minutes and there may be four people working on the car.
bruno22rf
Aldi have jet washes at £90, car shampoo is £10/5ltrs and a chamois around £10, soon make your money back.
Spr1985
I drive a Ford ranger wildtrack with canopy and it costs me £12 for the outside or £25 for inside and out. That’s in Essex. £35 seems a bit steep to me irrelevant of how many people are in the line working. What vehicle is it?
JTaylor91
Chap this way charges £120 for Land Rover size inside and out but he has it a minimum of 5 hours. £80 for a car.

Isn’t that a professional valeting though? I’d expect to pay that sort of money for a proper valet with all the speacialist products and a gleaming finish. I got the impression from the op that it was a quick wash/clean up inside and out job/ roadside car wash

Westward
For the last 3-4 years the local place known as the "taliban" carwash charged £7 for outside only and £15 for the full works. About 5 lads descended on the car and did the job very well in about 10 minutes. My rich youngest son was so impressed he bunged them a score. They seem to have gone now, looks like lockdown or maybe Brexit did for them.

Walker570
I can't get my Landie washed. Every time I pull into the wash base there is a scramble of Romanians for the exit and they vanish up the road. Ok, I know it spends quite a bit of time back and forth through a dairy farm but you get used to the smell eventually Edited April 22, 2021 by Walker570

Spr1985
I’m gobsmacked, round where I live that would be classed as a small car and cost £15 inside and out

If you are time rich (retired or single etc) then this is a good idea. However the time taken is excessive if you have a full time job, family and shoot. My personal solution to this predicament is to have a filthy car and wear it as a badge of pride. It’s not at all messy but it’s not at all clean. My car tells people I’m equally busy and cheap 🤣 Edited April 23, 2021 by WalkedUp
Walker570
Mine shows I have a PROPER Land Rover and use it accordingly. It is at present getting it's once a year spring clean and it is amazing what you find behind and under seats and mats. Two handfuls of fired 22 cases, a Golden Whispa choccy bar I knew I had purchased but couldn't find and a half ham and cheese sandwich I dropped when a tree rat suddenly appeared, then forgot to retrieve it and much more....memories memories

countryman
Before they had a dedicated car wash area at my local town they would wash your car in it’s car park bay, ok if your car was being washed, but if your car was on each side of it not so good as they rubbed past yours with there buckets. GingerCat
Mine gets a mid winter wash and a summer wash. It's just has the summer wash early. There is a point where it doesnt get any dirtier. The roads round here make it pointless also. 1 round trip to work and it looks like it did before. oldypigeonpopper
Hello, one must not forget it's another earner for tesco, in Abingdon the car washer is often signed not in use 🤔 even a local pub has a car wash and they queue up to pay a tenner,
paulinlincs
Buy yourself a rotary polisher and pads spend 8 hrs doing a 3 stage polish. Then a nice layer of Mitchell & King carnauba wax (£200 a pot from their budget range) throw in a inside clean perhaps another 3 hrs using pure bristle brushes job done and you still have 6 days left in the week to enjoy yourself 😂😂 Edited April 24, 2021 by paulinlincs
