But it's certainly a kick up the frontside for Starmer and his gang.

I dont think the King can do that nowadays, he can ask but i "think" the only person who can call another election is the sitting party, so no chance of that, as i said earlier Borris had the guts to do it. I will get corrected soon, politics hasnt been my thing since i left school.

JohnfromUK
Realistically, the only way a Gov't can be 'ousted' against it's will is if they loose a "Vote of Confidence" in the House of Commons. That isn't going to happen with the majority Labour have as 'if' there was an election many of them would lose their seats, so they won't vote for it. Stermer will brush it off and it is very unlikely that anyone would table a vote of no confidence as the chances of winning are nil.

They are more interested in having a cushy guaranteed job (as unemployment grows) inflation proof salary (as inflation grows) and fantastic expenses for the next 4 years as the economy contracts - which clearly passes most of then by . ditchman
all that will happen is ...............NOTHING........if it was David trechorous Cameron all he would say is "i get it " the only thing that would force a govt stance/position/change /resign is if the supermarket shelves started emptying.............someone once said "3 days without food in the shops, will result in total anarchy" Edited 22 hours ago by ditchman

Akin to those calling for a second eu ( not worthy of higher case type ) referendum cos they didn’t like the result? Thank you. I posted this on another forum I subscribe to: Wow. I wonder how many that now want a re-run of the General Election because they aren't happy with the result are some of the same people that told the folk that voted "Remain" in the EU Brexit Referendum to "get over it" and there shouldn't be a "second vote" because the first vote was final and what the people voted for?Because it can be said that the promises made by "Leave" laid out in the Referendum also were not kept. Remember £350 million a week to the NHS, the removal of VAT on domestic electricity and gas, the "easiest trade deal in history", "no border in the Irish Sea", a better place for British fishermen and British farmers (that was Farage wasn't it).Not to forget Turkey joining the EU? And free trade with the rest of the world...and especially with the USA? Why Vote Leave Let's take back control on 23 June www.voteleavetakecontrol.org I totally agree, I didn't vote for this government, but they've won a democratic election and it should be respected imo. I will add that many of the leave promises didn't come to fruition because remainers were in power and refused to deliver on the promises made.
