chrisjpainter
We've just had out flat-coated retriever Wes put down. He was a big, daft bear of an animal. Impeccable with children, willing, obedient (when he deemed it necessary) and spectacularly dim. He was never scared of anything or anyone - except the floor if he thought it might be damp. He'll be sorely missed. Edited October 16, 2019 by chrisjpainter

Scully
Sad news. The best thing that can happen to anyone ( with the exception of kids ) is having a dog. Unfortunately they don’t live long enough, then they leave a big dog shaped hole in your life. It hurts.

chrisjpainter
Meanwhile the dog that jumped off a cliff is perfectly fine! slightly crooked nose, but that's not bad going for a 215ft fall! She'll miss him something shocking though
Retsdon
Sorry to hear that Chris. It's a kicker but the greater the joy the deeper the pain. It's all just life unfortunately...

JohnfromUK
Very sad. I have had to take them to the vet for a last time, and it is hard; but it is the right thing to do when the time comes.
Sussexboy
What a great looking dog! It is a privilege that we get to spend time with them, and awful that the time is always too short. As has already been said, all you can do is remember the good times.
