Lloyd90
Absolute A-hole! Going out surfing in that, hes put all those men lives at risk! Should bill him for the cost of the launch!

islandgun
Amazing boats ! self righting, can only imagine the absolute chaos in the wheel house, and the composure of the skipper to get back on course.. Fantastic footage for the lifeboat magazine though
The Heron
What a total waste of air this man and others like him should be put in prison
Newbie to this
@Lloyd90 is spot on, the only way to stop idiots like this one, is to hit them with the bill. When there thrill seeking costs them £X thousands, maybe they will think twice. Edited February 10, 2020 by Newbie to this
oldypigeonpopper
hello, what a stupid scrote , they could have all drowned, brave men and ladies in the RNLI and many volunteers,
mel b3
Dave pretty much nailed it with cockwomble 👍. Anyone getting afloat in that sea needs a damned good reason, the only good enough reason that I can think of is to save a cockwomble that was dumb enough to go out. shooterman49
Unfortunately you can't educate stupid. Happens far too often down by us(South Devon). It's about time the idiots were charged the full cost. It might make them stop and think about it.

figgy
Saw it on the news, I thought can't remember the last time I saw a lifeboat on its side like that. Seen them being tested and capsized but not in standard service. Edited February 10, 2020 by figgy

Retsdon
Why would anyone go surfing in that anyway? It might have looked big, but it was nothing but messy chop. From the footage I saw on another link it would have been a real struggle to find a surfable wave out there. An attention seeker....
Gordon R
Tremendously brave men risking their lives to save an idiot. I have long been of the opinion that there should be an offence of "Criminal Stupidity". This reinforces my view.

figgy
GordonR there is one called endangering life, or similar wording.
Old farrier
Being as were on the subject here’s a picture of one of the first self righting lifeboat tests all new boats are still subject to a similar test before entering service
Diver One
The people who man these boats are all HEROES. A team which should not be applied to some TV celebrity who is good with colours. my daughters Father in law was the Cox of the local lifeboat for many years....all manned by volunteers. Having spent a lot of time on and under the water my donations are Lifeboat, Air Ambulance and ( unfortunately due to personal circumstances) a Cancer Charity
Sha Bu Le
I hope this idiot was named and shamed by the media and certainly not viewed as a 'hero'
Raja Clavata
RNLI and Mountain Rescue are real heroes, there should be a mechanism to bring criminal proceedings to imbeciles that are responsible for such call-outs in conditions like this. We were in Snowdonia yesterday and mountain rescue had enough issues helping people stranded in their homes from the flooding but there were still idiots in the mountains doing things / in places they had no business being in. Indeed. 22 rescuers sent out to rescue 4 idiots on Ben Nevis today, 3 of them wearing trainers! https://www.itv.com/news/2020-02-10/climbers-rescued-in-blizzard-after-scaling-ben-nevis-in-trainers/
Gordon R
Quote GordonR there is one called endangering life, or similar wording. I should have said that my suggestion covered more than situations where rescuers lives were at stake.
Cheshirelad
The whole lifeboat crew put their lives in danger, just because some moron thought it would be a good idea to go surfing in the middle of a storm? Unbelievable. I helped out at the Hastings Lifeboat station many years ago as 'shore crew', and some of the stories the lads used to come back with would have made a saint swear. I take my hat off to all Lifeboatmen and women. I think it's an absolute disgrace that they recieve no funding from the government.
