Thought I would start another thread so as not to dis-rail the thread in ‘Talk From The Field’ by kitchrat.

marsh man (John) as had a bit of a ruff time the last few days, yesterday he spent the whole day ( 10am till 9.45 ) in the Norfolk / Norwich Hospital having two stents put in his arteries.

Hope you make a full recovery mate. :good:

Wow , I seem to have a fair bit of air time on the forum lately , I did manage to walk in and out of the ward where the procedure was carried out and I am still upright , the first part wasn't that bad as my wrist area was numbed , they then injected the dye in my heart and the surgeon who done it informed me that two of my arteries had narrowed and he said he could fit two stents in if I agreed , carry you on and do whatever you want , the first one he fitted was painful but not that bad , the second one was slightly worse and I was close to the point of asking him to stop for a little while but just then he had finished and he complimented how brave I was , he wouldn't had said a few minutes later 😛 , when it was finished he showed me on the screen how it was before he started and how it was when he had finished and he said I should be able to do as much and a fair bit more when everything get better, so I was very happy with that and it made the 11 hours or so in hospital all worth while .

The staff and the nurses were once again brilliant , couldn't do enough for you and supplying tea and sandwiches whenever you wanted then .

I did mention to old'un when one of the young nurses took a bit to much air out of my pressure bracelet and I didn't know the blood was pouring out until the pages of my paper I was reading started to turn red and when I removed the paper I had a pool of blood on my gown , a fair bit on the floor and on my trousers , once I got the nurses attention everything was cleared up and back to normal in a matter of minutes and I could carry on reading my paper minus two pages and my cup of tea was still hot and drinkable, so all in all an interesting day .

This have certainly been a bad year but I am still here and apart from having some teeth out next week and a top and bottom plate fitted I can see the light at the end of the tunnel , how long the tunnel is ,then that could be another story , Many THANKS for your interest :drinks:

As a lot of you know a lot of things in my life never go exactly to plan and t b h I would get worried if they did  , yesterday was no exception , my mate just down the road from mine help out on the shoot by driving the game cart and is a perfect time keeper , he said he would be at mine about 10 to 9 and bang on the dot he turned up , there was not a lot of traffic and we got to the Norfolk / Norwich at 10 to 10 , a good half an hour early , booked in and you more or less know how the rest of the day went .

Well for my lift home my eldest sister arranged that with her daughters partner , we had no mobile signal in the hospital so the nurse was kind enough to lend me her phone when I found out what time I could come out which was between 8.30 and 9 , I rang him up to tell what ward I was in which was the Out patents , level 3 and if he went to the reception they would show him where I was , so that was sorted , or so I thought , come nearly 9pm there was no sign of him so I had to borrow a phone again , rang him up again and he said there wasn't a level three and he asked if he could talk to the nurse to ask her where we were , well after a couple of minutes the nurse couldn't stop laughing , she then said that my driver was not only on the wrong floor he was at the wrong hospital that was nearly 35 miles away , he thought we were at the J P H at Yarmouth and not at Norwich so it was another hours wait ,a little after 10 pm he finally arrived , one consolation was he had a virtually brand new Range Rover so I did end up being taken home in a bit of class , as I said earlier , it was a long , long ole day .
