mr smith
I reckon it's to allow a reduction in social distance to increase capacity.

Centrepin
I haven't been on a "public transport" for probably 40 years although they do run round here.
Mr.C
I have to use public transport, trains, to get into work every day. Or I should say usually. I'm glad that face masks will be compulsory as travelling through East Croydon and Clapham Junction the chances of social distancing are frankly ludicrous. I'm having to travel unsocial hours in order to avoid crowded trains.
fern01
Where I live in N Yorks the buses and local trains are travelling about virtually empty. The bus pass travellers have abandoned them

As all they do is slow the journey down and make people with jobs (who are subsidising these bus passes) late for work. And there's nothing I'd rather not spend half an hour hearing than how Ted's recent haemorrhoid operation went. Just the thing to enjoy after eating a breakfast of fried bacon and tinned tomatoes. They also are the first in the queue at the hospitals for blood tests. Go along for 8am (when many people who need to get to work are also there) and it is rammed packed with them. Go at 3pm and it’s empty.
Scully
Not a problem, if I have to wear a mask I will. There’s always some knocking about in my vehicle. Edited June 5, 2020 by Scully

Yes I did use that line fairly often because I can get across London for free from Surrey to Harrow Middx when the alternative is the M25 but definitely not at the moment. Vince Green
Whether its compulsory or not you would have to be thick not to wear a mask and gloves on public transport from the start.

oldypigeonpopper
Hello, as a regular twirly, 😁 I had to go for a hospital appointment tuesday. 2 bus journeys or a 40 minute drive and would be lucky to find a parking space let alone a tenner parking, interesting each bus had few passengers but all wearing masks except 2 people and both sat in wrong seat, and both young black citizens !! The Heron
Our local council has this weekend barried all the parking places on the high street to provide more space for social distancing, 12 weeks to late this horse is not only over the hill it's died and been turned into glue . discobob
Just been to post something - our council has done the same on the "high" street - made it one way - one side closed off along with the parking spaces. I wonder if that will affect the market they have every Saturday and Wednesday on there - that has been going every week of lockdown - and we are in Wales!!! 21 hours ago, The Heron said: Our local council has this weekend barried all the parking places on the high street to provide more space for social distancing, 12 weeks to late this horse is not only over the hill it's died and been turned into glue .
