spurs 14
I feel for the guy , that’s horrible , why the hell are the police not doing something he’s going about his lawful business and yet again the police won’t touch the masked trespassers stopping him ,
Rob85
I would love to see basc taking this case on and supporting this gentleman in a court case against the police. I think he deserves at the least a public apology. The local landowner may also have a case against the police for losses and damages incurred from not being able to protect his land due to the police preventing the lawful pest control taking place. Newbie to this
That is utterly disgraceful! It's abuse of power by the police, where the victim has become demonised for going about his lawful business, while others break the law by trespassing (I know not criminal). stuartyboy
Shocking and indicative of what all field sports face. If a shooter faces this harassment from the public and the police while legally controlling non indigenous pests, it shows that all of us on this forum could potentially face the same. Luckyshot
Like I have always said, police in this country are corrupt scum and basc are just legal thieves by taking your money and giving you no support when its needed. WalkedUp
BASC, CA & NFU need to form an alliance and start black-listing snivelling MPs like Stuart Andrew. The fact that he is a militant member of the ‘LGBT+’ movement saddens me. A lot of folk into fieldsports and conservation assume that ‘LGBT+‘ are a threat to British heritage and way of life, sadly he is proving them right in this instance. The most important thing is that the plumber did the right thing; kept his head, despite political persecution he has stayed civil to his attackers and stayed safe. We need to be at all times. Mr. Merkel
This is not right and is something that can affect most on this forum, I have written to the West Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner and voiced my disgust at the lack of assistance by the West Yorkshire Police. Its frightening that the Police allow his family to be bullied. I'm not sure what I would do in the same circumstances, my shoulders are broad enough, but pick on my family and I bleed. I would be terrified of repercussions to my children and grandchildren.

WestonSalop
This really does make me angry. The abuse of police powers is shocking as is the attitude of the MP involved. Some senior copper needs to lose his job over this. I have written to my MP today on this matter and would urge PW members to do the same. The shooter involved needs to be given every assistance possible. The poor sod is likely going to lose his business because of the lunatics who believe that Canada Geese should be protected. Shameful.
Tollerman
Is he a member of BASC ? If so they should be pulling out all the stops to assist him .About time all country sport enthusiasts were protected in law to stop anti's coming onto private land and disrupting their completely legal activities.I believe this is the case in several European countries .Boris please take note. WalkedUp
In the video BASC are assisting. I jumped ship to CA years ago due to frustration with the profiteering of BASC to fund cushie jobs. But think I need to start supporting them as well even if I don’t agree with them completely - bigger picture.

This in a nutshell 100% agree. It would seem that these people think that they have done nothing wrong. It’s absolutely disgraceful how somebody going about their lawful business can be arrested for doing nothing wrong. But all the time nothing is being done about it this sort of thing will keep happening come on the Basc!!!
greylag
Can you imagine if this was Mr Peckham or any of his pals.It would be all over the media, just look at the howls about a couple of crows. This is a criminal offence.Threatening behaviour. Newbie to this
I hope he has started the complaint process against the Police. Edit - And the farmer, both have a case of abuse of power. Neither were breaking the law, yet have had pressure from the Police to stop their lawful activity.
