Would you want to work till you're 95 though?

And be in the public eye and have everything you do or say scrutinized. I wouldn't for any amount of salary. Being a royal or indeed a high profile politician or celebrity does not look fun at all to me.

Earnt his retirement I would think ..he should be able to get a bit of shooting in now , might even do a bit of digging to terriers or out with a running dog the worlds his oyster..😂😂

At a country show he made a bee line for my mate and shook his hand as he was stood there with his Lurchers so obviously stood out!

He said to my mate "I bet he would be good on the Roe!"

My mate said he thought it was a great laugh when he said "I'll bring him down your estate to try if you like!" 😂😂

Have spoke to him a couple of times when I worked in the palace many moons ago and he's surprisingly down to earth . I seriously wish him well , his service to the country is exemplary..

I would like to wave and drop clangers without fear of backlash when not shooting for £360K+ - will be looking for this position in our local Jobcentre.

Think your post shows a hint of jealousy as you have admitted you would like the job if it came up at the job centre.

I had the privilege of meeting him several years ago on one of our shooting days , the day was freezing cold with snow on the ground , he had a pair of laced up boots on and a tweed suit , at the time the guns wagon didn't have any windows in so he followed us in his range rover so he could see round the estate .

The odd drive I saw him shoot he could certainly hold his own and there wasn't to much that got passed him , in my gun cabinet I have got a couple of cartridges he was using , they were paper cases , fibre wad and from the Sandringham Shooting School .

On the day he was very down to earth although his security guards made sure you didn't get to close , at the time he must have been 80 or very close to it .

I for one hope he has several years left to enjoy his retirement .

I am not in any way a Royalist but I give him credit he has done a good job over they years and deserves to take it easy for what time he has left I think that the Queen will go on till she drops it is the job that keeps her going I tend to think that when she goes they should finish with this Royalty thing as most of us have outgrown it.

Not that I expect many of you to agree with me but they are my thoughts for what they are worth.
